Our JamKazam group needed a song with the number ‘SIX’ in the title. I decided to write a song since we had trouble coming up with a cover tune.
STRUMMIN’ MY SIX STRING
CHORUS
Over the years - many a guitar I have known
My affection for music - has steadily grown
I love strummin’ my six string - with friends far and near
Singin’ and strummin’ - good times I hold dear
My First guitar - was a four string wannabe
My Dad turned it into - an instrument for me
My second guitar - a Stella tenor four string
Wish that I still had it - ‘cause it could really sing
CHORUS
Next a Garcia - nylon string I played
Mom saved her tips - for me on my birthday
Then I bought a Fender - performed here and there
She’s had a hard life - and shows a lot of wear
CHORUS
The Fender paid for my Guild - it’s a pure pleasure
It’s the one guitar - I will always treasure
A Martin is now - the guitar for everyday
Sits on a stand - I can just grab it and play
CHORUS
