HeartCry Curriculum

Жыл бұрын

These lessons in #Proverbs are made with children and teenagers in mind (though adults can certainly learn from them as well!) and can serve as a school course.
Paul Washer is founder of the HeartCry Missionary Society. Visit heartcrymissionary.com for more information, updates, and resources!
HeartCry is a missionary society with one great and overriding passion: that God's Name be Great among the Nations (Malachi 1:11) and that the Lamb receive the full reward for His suffering (Revelation 7:9-10).

@@ericjohn8428 honestly, chapter 10 keeps messing me up. I don't know why but I had the hardest time with that. Write down your insights as you go. They'll be a treasure. The best part is when you can recite the verses as a devotional, rather than just saying words and not even know what you're saying. What insights do you have from it?
@ericjohn8428

@@radvermin1541 right that actually sounds awesome. I’ll try that. Yeah he’s a couple 1.) Proverbs 12:14 - The mouth and hands are contrasted. Interesting that God created the world with his mouth. We in his image build up and tear down with our mouth 2.) Proverbs 12:21 - The wicked being FILLED with evil is synonymous with Romans 1:29 (negative) and Philippians 1:11 (positive). Those who give in to evil have their hearts literally filled with their own way, darkness and evil. Is Christians have Christ dwelling in our hearts, he’s our righteousness and those spiritual fruits fill us and overflow. 3.) Proverbs 14:25 - A True witness delivereth souls but a Deceitful witness speaketh lies. The word for delivereth there is Natsal meaning to draw/pull out. Immediately made me think of Jude vs 23 - Others save with fear, pulling out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. So often evangelists and preachers who are faithful to the biblical message are accused of hate or bigotry etc when really they’re the loving ones because they are preaching the truth. If the lost keep being told God loves them etc and they’re not told that his wrath abides on them then that witness isn’t a true witness Anyway there’s a few I thought were interesting. Did you find any?? I’d love to hear them! God bless

@@ericjohn8428 thank you for those. The first one was interesting with the contrast, and how sin ruins our capacity for using our words in a godly way. 4) Proverbs 21:21 "He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." I can pursue this for myself, but I can pursue this in others, helping them to be righteous and loving. 5) the reason why Proverbs are like laws is that there is always a loophole or a scenario where it doesn't apply. But it's unwise to not apply the letter of the proverb at the expense of the spirit of the proverb. This is why Proverbs is meant to be memorized, but to have a set of songs but to understand the spirit of them. This is why people mistake Jesus for "Wisdom", because they're getting past the proverb to the essence behind them and that is an actual person, the Creator of all, Yahweh. 6) People memorize chapter 7 to fight porn, but they shouldn't stop there. Memorize chapter 8 as well so you can hold on to what is good when you let go of evil. 7) wisdom is not a way of thinking, it's a way of choosing. I wonder if anyone else will add to this? 😀

My 20-year-old son will be reading Proverbs at our daily readings - which are in addition to our readings with my 17-year-old daughter, where we are reading Matthew currently and also working through John MacArthur's exposition of John online - next, after we finish Psalms, so we are going to use this. Thank You Lord for providing.

Was working in Poland for 5 months (I’m from the US) and the brothers and sisters there are greatly blessed by HeartCry and by the faithful elders being supported.

I'm 32 and you're teaching and preaching means so much to me. It is hard to have a relationship that doesn't revolve around sex. My ex used it against me to, calling me a hypocrite because I care about doing the right thing in some areas of my life but I've struggled with lust and pleasure. Even though I struggle, I go back to God, knowing I can not live in this sin and be close to God and being close to God is what's most important. I don't like being in conflict with him because knows what's best for me and what my purpose is and I wanna have purpose and do good. I'm so happy that I have video after video of you teaching and discussing the word of God. Thank you Pastor Washer.

My 2 grandsons call me every evening and we read the Bible together. During their summer break they spend the summer with us on our farm. I ran across this series for the first time and listened to Pastor Washer’s lesson on Chapter 5, and what a blessing. 🙏🏼❤️ we will be incorporating this series into our Bible study this summer with our grandchildren. My husband and I have listened to Pastor Washer for many years and am thankful that he has put this series together.

👋🏻 The Prov 5:2 ("thy lips keep knowledge" ) linked with Prov 15:28 ("the ❤️ lf fhe righteous, studies to answer") reminded me of the Armour (Eph 6): the breastplate of Righteousness... I know Christ to be Righteousness, but another understanding that is now dawning on me is that the breastplate protects the heart... We need to guard our hearts because 1. there's feelings coming from it and that as a guide, could lead to carnality, 2. but also, what is in our hearts will come out of our mouths... we must speak Life, edifying words... Thus, putting on the breastplate includes/means also to study the Word to be able to answer...🙌🏻

Good day brothers and sisters at HeartCry. Could I humbley ask you for a favour? I am watching the proverbs lessons done by brother Paul, the order of the lessons on the Playlist are not ordered correctly so I was wondering if someone would be able to fix that. The lessons are very encouraging informative and GOD is using them to bring changes in my life to mold me into the image of his son, so I hope my request is not offensive I just think it would make it easier for us to keep track of the order when we listen. GOD bless you all in the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST ❤.

Oh i do thank you for this ministry and i pray God blesses it but i dislike the over production that has crept in now i find it distracting and i can not stand music over speaking it is just unnecessary. Please don't strive to be like the world where its all about entertainment Gods word is powerful and it does not need "enhancing" if thats what you think you are doing. Sorry but its getting harder and harder to find anyone not doing this and just trusting Gods word on its own its sad.

The Bible is Very Badly Written. We Know from History and Across the World that People Cannot Even Agree what it Says or Means. For about a Millennium People Interpreted it Literally and Concluded it Supported Slavery and after that Decided there was a Different Interpretation and it Didn’t Really. Any God Worth Their Name Would Have the Power to Write a Book that Everyone Could Understand. Any God With Any Sense Would Realize that Human Beings Were of Finite Mental Capacity and if They Really Did Want to Write a Message for all Mankind Would Write a Book that Everyone Would Recognize as the Word of God and Understand. It Makes No Sense at all for God to Write a Book Which in Practice has the Net Effect of Confusing Everybody About Something as Basic as Whether “SLAVERY” is OK. If The Bible is Intended as Moral Guidance it is Demonstrably and Indisputably Badly Written and So Not Plausible as the Word of Any God Worthy the Title. The Bible is What it Appears to Be. It’s an Eclectic Collection of Writings and Stories Mixing Historical Fact with Supernatural Fiction Written Over a Thousand Years Ago by People Who Weren’t Even the Most Enlightened People of Their Time and By Modern Standards were Spectacularly Ignorant. “No amount of Evidence will Ever Persuade an Ignorant Person.”
