Yeah, my main reason for switching to PC wasn’t the price-to-performance, but the fact that I can do whatever I want on it and I can set graphics the way I want to, meaning I only have to put up with 30fps, when I choose to(basicallly never).

Because those are the only games worth playing on Playstation if all you have is a PS5? RDR2 is quite mid and Bloodborne has been surpassed by both Sekiro and Elden Ring.

i kind of feel sorry, these guys are always given shit that they are told is the best shit ever, when it's not even close to the PC market lol. you would think PlayStation would throw them a bone and actually offer them a good capable machine for once, but instead, they are just given a carrot dangling in front of their face constantly, causing them to think they have something more amazing than anything. the hype train is beyond comprehension. i was also once a console gamer, i used to have PlayStation and an Xbox, but i upgraded to PC because there is far more freedom in the games we play and much higher performance capability, it's true that there are some shitty PC ported games that have issues, that is not due to the hardware most of the time, that's due to the poor design and structure of the game and how it was ported over. now here is the funny thing, the other reason why i moved to PC was because i learned most of the newer games worked with controller, specifically my 360 controller, it also works with xbox 1 controllers and recently i have been seeing PlayStation controllers being added to compatibility, so the future is still PC, some people on PC who like their keyboard and mouse complain about the controller games being ported over to PC or the ones that are being created to have controller support, but for me i say the more the merrier because i hate using keyboard and mouse and prefer using my controller 100% of the time, i also use an app that extends that controllers capabilities in some games where i can bind multiple buttons with key bindings from the keyboard so i can get extra controls on the fly and i fucking love it, you could never get such control on a console, it's just not possible, except for maybe in some games.

And Alan Wake is a notoriously poor PC port. Haven't had to touch those settings again though, still runs perfectly fine. So yes, your friend is a moron if he spends more time tweaking settings than playing games.

The architecture and the way it sends/retrieves data is different than a traditional SSD on PC, as the data has a 2nd pass to ensure no errors and therefore takes slightly longer to process. Also the point of Ratchet & Clank and the magical SSD was that it was touted as it couldn’t be run on a HDD when clearly it can but very unstable.

@@anubispatron I switched from console to PC purely due to Sony and MS trying to sell us low end laptops as "next-gen" consoles in 2013. Frankly, it's the best move ever made. Sure, the PC cost a little bit more to build but the cost of games and no charges to fully use them has saved me 10 grand plus in that time, and my library is superb.

​@@Krypto121lol no, it is 1152p on average which means it dips quite a bit below 1080p as well, maybe not 720p but far from 1440p. Plus as a bonus it uses a horrible upscalar as well that destroys all detail and blurs the image. On PC, we have DLSS, XeSS etc. that can make even 1080p indistinguishable from 4K in some scenarios.

Well, to be fair... Blu-Ray disks typically cap out at 50GB of capacity. With games reaching above that even with compression, games just don't physically fit on those discs anymore...

I assume many Playstation owners have many of their games physically so plenty are not as affected. If you have a physical copy you can just put the game back in your library even if it magically got deleted. I say that because i have all the consoles and for Switch and PlayStation i buy mostly physical while i buy mostly digital on Xbox. Xbox just seem to promote digital gaming much more threw the years and that made most of us buy less physical for it so it is good that it at least has the Windows Microsoft store as a back-up i guess. Of course you have to have to make your account on PC too. I bet some people didn't or have a Mac or something instead of a PC.

And have a 300 watt power supply thinking they can run games at high frame rate at actual resolution. In reality you’ll need 800-1000 watts bare minimum to approach full 2160p and this is not even adding ray tracking. Console fan boys done understanding that these consoles just upscale a low resolution. You can see it in games that have a fps boost mode. Resident evil 4 remake for example drops the resolution to as low as 1080p in some areas to get 60fps and you can just tell by how washed out the image looks.

So the Ps5 pro won’t be that much better than a series X. The series X is already 10% more powerful than a Ps5 to begin with.

That's exactly why starfield is at 30fps Todd wanted it that way but I hear they might change that cause of internal pressure.

The biggest reason to get a console "ease of use" is slowly dying. The plug and play aspect of consoles is long gone and now they just use their online services to gouge your wallet further.

It’s like me upgrade my R5 3600 to a 5600 and wanking it off like it’s many times more powerful. In reality it’s like 10% better and I’ll probably see little difference in game. Maybe afew extra frames in areas that are more CPU bound.

What’re your specs? Considering 95% of the entire PC market are actually on hardware that’s worse than current gen consoles I’d say there’s actually a good chance the PS5 is more capable than yours. Unless, of course, you’re part of the 3-5% of PC players on high end hardware.

@@SolidBoss7 PS5 will never be more capable. It's limited gimped hardware by design. It's just somehow became acceptable to consider wonky up-scales and 30 fps with dips as "optimization". Not to mention it's only limited to run some games.

And if the rumours are true, that the PS5 Pro is using the same Zen 2 cores, clocked a bit higher, then the PS5 Pro won't hit 60FPS much either. You will get resolution bumps, but not performance bumps. Zen2 is just not fast enough.

@Krypto121 Barly, it's an APU, so without a cpu with a 1080 yeah, I can see that. Now, if I have a 1070ti or 1080 along side with ryzen 7 5700x and it destorys PS5 for under 300$, my point still stands. It's only so much that APU can do compared to the CPU and GPU.

Comparing an old pascal gpu with no rt to a ps5 is not a great idea.
