If anyone is reading this who wants one of these, please get one. It’s an absolutely fantastic bit of kit. I’ve done a lot of research and a lot of testing. The results that have worked 95% of the time is Elegoo resin (standard) with a 3.5 seconds and 40 seconds. Trust me, this works perfectly!

I definitely need that new wash and cure for sure. I'm still working off of an old 2.0 and a way to just drop the plate into the bath would be handy. Great review of the printer. I love the new sensors as upgrades vs my M3 Plus. As for the scraper, I thought a scratched bed just meant that you printed stuff lol. Keep up the great work, you're the best no BS review on the internet. Check out Anycubic's ABS-like 2.0 as a resin. It's water washable and tough unlike most other water washables.

ok, this was such a great video. im really interested in starting 3d printing, and this printer got my attention for auto leveling, and all this sensors, but really wanted to see them in action. thank you very much for this indepht information on resin, instead of high speed one - since i really need to order it outside of the country and taxes on it would eat me alive for a couple of bottles, so am happy to see it in works with water one, as i can get it localy. after watching some videos on this machine, i really wasnt sure anymore, but ill def get it now, and try my hand in some 3d prints. thank you very much Aurora!

Hi, am I right that k1c and kobra 2 pro are the same in terms of print quality and overall performance with tpu,petg and pla? Are there any other differences,except enclosure, size and software? Thank you and Helios for reviews and detailed descriptions of printers

That's a really cool bowl. I'll have printed so far was a gyroid infill and some speaker grills. Next is a music tool for helping select cord progressions based on the mode and key you are playing in.

Very nice video as always. If I could give a suggestion, it would be to also print miniatures for tabletop games when testing resin printers, as it is what a lot of people will use them for, and they are much smaller models with heavy details. It's also important to highlight that studies have shown that air purifiers do not add protection unfortunately, but only remove the smell. People should still wear masks and vent out fumes, even with an army of air purifiers.

Great review - I might add that flexplates function as intented (have one for saturn 2), albeit you have to sand the surface with 200 grit paper or better. Adhesion is good, even at 15 burn in layers. 👍

@@nicwilson58 to lock customers into a walled garden? Besides, Anycubic is actively violating the Klipper software license. There is no benefit to locking a printer to the cloud besides greed and control.

@nicwilson58 my understanding is that my designs become available to the manufacturer as part of the EULA for the cloud support. If I come up with a million dollar idea to print I certainly don't want to give it away as part of the license to click and send it to my printer.

Have you tried screen capture with OBS? I've never had any issues capturing those layer previews from different resin slicers using it. Nice demo of the smart features in this printer! I've been enjoying using mine quite a bit.

"...so I'll make my brother do it." Respect. One question about dealing with the failure of the high speed version of the default model: did you test if the auto-check system can determine if there is cured resin stuck to the vat film or did you just remove the failed print and proceed to the standard speed version of the model? You'd think we'd all remember to remove failed prints, especially complete failures like that one, but if only one support or feature fails and and sticks to the plate it would be nice for the printer to detect that spot to avoid causing a failure with the next print (or damaging the printer). I'll also say that I've really enjoyed the Fula-Flex plate I put on my Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K. I have had a few adhesion issues but those were before I got the settings dialed in for new resins...being able to pop the plate off the magnet and then the print off the plate is super convenient. Another thought I had: while I have no doubt the 14K screen is better than a 2K or 4K screen, is it really that much better than an 8K or 12K? I recall from reading about future television technology that there is little need to go past 8K for normal-sized televisions because the pixels are small enough that the human eye can no longer discern even smaller pixels...at what point do we see similarly diminishing returns with resin printers? Great review as always!

When the print fails, I still need to manually remove it from the film of the tray. As long as the layer height is set to 0.05mm, I can't see a significant difference between a 14K resolution and lower resolutions like 8K or even 6K, unless you are printing something with ultra-fine details and inspect them under a super-macro lens.

You can correct the plate adhesion being too strong by properly calibrating the resin profile. You should always do this anyways, as built-in profiles tend to be over-exposed, which leads to lost detail and over-exposing a well supported model results in harder to remove supports and more damage to the model from support removal. I would advise never using a built-in profile for anything except maybe a starting point to calibrate from. With a properly calibrated resin profile removal from the build plate is almost effortless, and supports pull off with a pleasing rip sound and leave almost nothing behind, including scarring. (this of course, assumes the model was well supported).

One major issue with water washable resins (well two really); 1. Handling the contaminated water is a huge pita. You cannot just dump it down the drain unless you hate the planet. Letting it evaporate takes a very long time. IPA should last a very long time, and when it comes time to get rid of it, it will evaporate in a tiny fraction of the time that water does. If you're losing IPA rapidly, it's due to evaporation from leaving the container open when unnecessary. I'm coming up on a year since I started resin printing and my wash tub is just as full as it was when I filled it almost a year ago, and I've not added any to it since then. 2. Water washable resins tend to under-perform compared to normal resins and experience more failures.

Did the water washable filament stink or produce any odors printing?
@FuttFel
@FuttFel 3 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter how it smells. The fumes are toxic and need to be vented either way. I would argue that a strong smell is a good thing. I've come home to a faint resin smell in the air before and that told me I had to work on my cleanliness and ventilation.

Those carbon filters ARE NOT enough for a safe prolonged usage. You **need** an enclosure with a hood or an extractor (and an hepa filter) or you need to change air after each printing and not live in the printing area. They give the illusion of safety removing the worst of the smell, but it's not safe and you don't want to breath resin fumes (or pla or abs, for that matter...) repeatedly. I'm not sure if we have long term studies on the impact of resin fumes on respiratory systems but i don't want to be the first to find out what "resin sensitivity" means in my lungs...
