most billionaires have family that are extremely wealthy and their children, who have done nothing to earn that money apart from being born. Thats not always the case: See, if you have let's say 100 U-Boot Typ VII submarines on one side (e.g. Germany) and (e.g. USA) 10 modern submarines, which fleet is better? Germany as a country doesn't neccessarily need submarines but if they fight as they did in WWII against Great Britain for example, they don't need superb but effective submarines to cut the supply-line between the USA and GB. Also if you look what some subs were able to do in 1945, Typ XXII, it's enough for e.g. Germany's case of war.

@@Aleks-yl5hf your argument doesn't make any sense. The supply lines were never cut. They either are or not. The supply lines were attacked and rather successfully to start with untill the Brits devised tactics and technologies that meant the u boat threat was practically nullified and ended up costing Germany more in their own resources then that of the American merchant navy and British navy. Ironically the second "happy time" only existed after America joined the war and some moron of a naval chief ignored the lessons learned by the Brits. However after significant losses this was reversed, hence the Atlantic war was actually "won" twice. The u boat threat was a real thing for the UK, at the start of the war, but not later, hence why the British navy could essentially do what they wanted i.e. send convoys to Russia, defend the Mediterranean and supply the North African campaign, whilst supplying and fighting the Japanese across the planet.
@Aleks-yl5hf
@Aleks-yl5hf 2 жыл бұрын
@@bingobangoist Yeah I know that from 1942 onwards the Atlantic sub war was lost and still, why shouldn't my argumentation make any sense? If Nazi-Germany would have been able to develope subs able to shoot from underwater from a depth of more than 100m and without being in need of coming back to the surface, the "allied bonus" which made them beat the German U-Boat Forces, would have failed. Sure there was always the possibility of destroyers throwing death charges when orting an enemies' sub, but if Germany also developped there hiding skills further it would have been useless again. All in all my friend, my argumentation is okay

If you have a gigantic army, you also constantly need an enemy. If only to justify the insanely large expenses. Expenses that have "demolished" America Think of all those wars often started on false grounds since the 2nd world war. Biden has started the deferred maintenance. How many years does it take America to get back in order......30?......40.....50 years? Or do you make the dollar worthless in order to have foreign countries pay your debts. Oh no, the dollar is actually worthless, but foreign countries can't get rid of it forcibly.....yet....I think that sooner than one expects it is no problem at all that America is taking on huge debts. For example, I think this is also the reason that, for example, some rich people convert their money into land. As they say: land is no longer produced (get rid of the dollar)

A lot of the submarines on here are older submarines that require to go snorkel or near surface to shoot their torpedoes. Most modern subs have better noise masking, counter detection and can shoot from safe distance. If a sub was within 20k yards of a surface ship and still undetected than it’s already over.

Even older submarines are still a nightmare to deal with. They can end merchant shipping extremely easily. They require a lot of ships and aircraft to constantly patrol large areas, they can still take out valuable capital ships, they can still use modern torpedoes or missiles with long ranges, few countries have a lot of anti-submarine ships/aircraft, having to screen with anti-submarine ships/aircraft exposes them to surface ships, the uncertainty of submarines often denies large areas, they allow attacks without necessarily knowing the source, they can be used for monitoring or special forces, etc. If a submarine stealth attacked an oil tanker of India tomorrow... now what? Search the entire Indian ocean?
