Ever wonder why the A train is blue on the map but the 6 train is green? Once you learn the method behind MTA subway colors, the map will never look the same.

Back then, a diamond meant a rush hour service change. to Rockaway park to Bedford Park Blvd via Concourse EXP Via Jamaica Express To Bay parkway Via Sea beach express Via Brighton Express Via Nassau Street Via lower manhattan Also, the rockaway park shuttle used to be blue, but they changed it to grey one year. Railfans and MTA refer to it as the (H).

“S” stands for “shuttle”. This is why the 42nd St Shuttle uses a lettered designation (S) despite being an IRT line. However, its internal designation is a number, that being “0”.

each of the three systems have a shuttle IRT 42nd Street Shuttle. IND Rockaway Park Shuttle. and BMT Franklin Ave Shuttle

The diamond sign is a rush hours peak express variant on some subway lines which would have a corridor of both local AND express rush hour peak direction services. Given that the 6, 7, and F trains also have many locals in the peak direction for the areas where they’re also express, that’s why those express variants have a diamond sign for their symbol.

The Rockaway Park and late night Lefferts Boulevard shuttle trains of the A line would be IND, the Franklin Avenue Shuttle Train would be BMT, and the 42nd Street Shuttle Train would be IRT, even though the shuttles probably have a separated division.

Sometimes the N does a skip stop on the LOCAL TRACK???? I had this in 5 stops while I was riding the N train at late night it skipped prospect avenue , 25 street , Union Square , 53rd street, and 45 street and it also stopped at Dekalb Avenue

Most commuter railway lines aren't on the tube map, just the Overground, Thameslink and the Elizabeth line. The subway map also has some commuter lines such as metro north, the LIRR and PATH.

Don't talk when you haven't even done your research. all of those three companies went bankrupt, population of New York was growing, they had to find a solution. Those three companies united into the MTA in 1964. And plus, the infrastructure of the NYC Subway wasn't built with very much planning and thought, they needed to build it quick because of demand, so that's why it's not really the best today. Now MTA has to deal with this poor infrastructure and that's why a lot of construction projects are going on and reroutes always happen. Please stfu.
