@@garcial06 Two Dual 2 ohm Subs can only be wired to 8 ohm or 0.5 ohm if wiring together. You can do 4 ohm or 1 ohm if 2 amps(1 per sub).

Thank you Jacob, I have a couple of friends that need this video! I hate being the guy that all my friends come to trying to explain and them not getting the concept. Only thing I would have added was the words parallel and series but for people that don’t fully understand I guess that just adds more confusion. Will be sending this to buddy’s.

Question regarding the 8ohm connection @8:50. If you wire the neg and positive across the coils, wouldn't that not work? If you want an 8ohm load you wire 1 neg to 1 positive together across the coils. The remaining neg and positive to the amp for 8ohm load?

Question, when you was doing the dvc 2ohm subs, and you came up with either 0.5ohm or 2 ohm load, is there a 3rd wiring option? To take it back up to 8ohm?

My final load is wired to 1 ohm. But when I measure it with the meter, it gives me .5 ohm which cause my amp to shut off. My amp is 1 ohm stable. Please help!!

What ohm subwoofers, how many, and how is it currently wired? Sounds like a pair of dual 2s wired to half ohm.

Your looking at half ohm or 2 ohm for 4 dvc 4 ohm subs on one amp.

You could but one sub would see more power and may have phasing issues. You want the same impedance subs wiring to amp so no complications, especially if shared box.

@@kamranasghar7074 so you wire up each DVC subwoofer down to 1 ohm, then connect them back up to 2 ohm. Google “subwoofer wiring diagram” and look at 12volt site, shows everything visually.

Hi new to this car sound system stuff I’m in need of some major help I bought a 12inch skar sub amp had blew out so I bought another amp but didn’t realize it was a 4ohm amp my 12in sub is 2ohm and didn’t realize it was a 12000watts sub ( due to my first sun blowing from not letting it break in then when replaced I blew the amp) so now I’m stuck and don’t know what to do My amp is a skar 800watt 4ohm marine and my sub is a 2ohm 12000 watt how can I go about this

Is it a dvc(dual voice coil) / 2 ohm? Wire it up to 4 ohm on the amp. Cross a possitive to negative terminal and then hookup other to amp. Use multimeter to confirm.

@jacobviral2 ok so I'm basically in the opposite position as @carlosslazar6767 I have a skar 800.1d amp that's 1ohm final impedance and it came with a skar sdr 12 d2 600rms/1200 peak sub I blew the sdr the first week well I'm sure the spider is lightly torn at the cone causing it to make a horrible noise at louder volumes so I bought a new sub which is a skar evl 12 1250rms and it's d4 so I wired it to 2ohm and it hits hard sounds great but I'm confused as if I should just get a 2nd evl d4 and wire them together down to 1 ohm or repair my d2 sdr and pair it with my d4 and use 1 coil of the evl since it's 1250rms and amp is 800rms and with them together get 1 ohm or just go with the rp-2000.1d amp and run it at 2 ohm with my d4 evl which would give me over 1000rms at 2 ohm instead of it being at 1ohm. I hope you or someone can help

You need the same impedance of both subs. Don’t mix dual 4 ohm with a dual 2 ohm.

Not exactly 1 ohm load but right above it yes like 1.2-1.3ohm. Wire 3 sets down to 0.6 ohm and then up to 1.2-1.3 ohm.

You want TWO Dual 4 ohm(4x4) to make 1 ohm with a pair of subs and not 2 dvc 2 ohm.

You cant wire two dual 4 ohm to 2 ohm, only 1 ohm final or 4 ohm final.

I've got a monoblock amplifier which has 2 positive and 2 negative speaker terminals. Is there a specific way to wire your sub to these kinds of Amps or could I just choose any positive and negative to wire up to the sub. I've bought this amp second hand so I don't have access to the user manual. Please help

You are correct. It’s a mono block so they are connected on the inside of the amp. I personally wired each coil straight to the amp connecting the coils at the amp for no wire restrictions. Some people don’t understand that and think it’s overkill but the other 2 terminals were unused due to only one sub so I figured might as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

does it matter which combo of neg to pos bridge wire for 2 DVC 2 ohm for 2 ohm final?? (I bridged a POS to the NEG right next to it for both subs)(not the long wire to the far NEG from the POS)

Yes you have to make sure it’s not wired wrong or it can be wired wrong and out of phase.

Jacob I need your help.I got the subs right doing my series parallel set up.but I'm having problems trying to do it with my mids & highs.I really need help.I have a diagram explaining my set up. It will be too much to write lol.I have 2020 jeep wrangler4dr. All6.5" (8total)are 20hm&svc/All tweeters (12total)are 4ohmsvc.I have a Pair of 6.5" SVC in dash(pair1" tweeters also),Front doors (4)6.5svc in each(pr1" tweeters in each).Reardoors(1)6.5svc in each(1"tweeters in each)Soundbar has (4)8" mids(4ohms)&(4)1" tweeters(2 on left side&2on right side of soundbar. I have (3)gfx3k2 full range mono amps 4ohm2000rms/2ohm3000rms) n for a back up amp I have a crunch PC-1000.4(250rmsx4@2ohms,or2x500@4ohmsbridged)how should I run this setup? Soundbar mids to one gfx ,its the6.5" & the tweeters I'm confused about.I want to run All 6.5 to one gfx amp n all tweeters to one gfx amp and the 4 8" mids to one amp.is that poss.again my picture diagram would show it better.please help

Thats all common scense. These wiring diagrams are a dime a dozen on the internet. I understand the newbies need it explained to them slowly, clearly in laymen terms. Ive been wiring my subs in a way where you're amps will run in perfect unison. We all got to start somewhere. I'm 49. Just chill out, keep reading keep learning keep working at it If you don't like what somebody has to say to you you can either get mad or take it in as a learning experience (cause u know there's always gonna be haters) I wouldn't trying to hate on you I didn't even read to see what I actually posted that upset you.
