Most of my friends and coworkers tease me about being a cheapskate because I drive an old beat up Honda Civic, I bring my lunch to work everyday and I buy my clothes at Goodwill. The part they always seem to forget is that I’m completely debt free at 47 years old. I own my house free and clear and I’ve got money in the bank. Meanwhile they’re all moaning about being broke, behind on their rent and car payments and all their other bills because they live from one paycheck to the next. It’s all about priorities!

I am a single mom with 2 kids, working 3 jobs (not counting KZfaq). I work my first 2 jobs from home M-F and deliver food on the weekends. I started at about $50K in debt. I'm down to $39K. My dream is to get out of debt and buy a nice property and a house, so we don't have to live in our horrible condo anymore. Your videos are a great inspiration to me.

Not leaving money to my extended family as most of them spend money on foolish things and to impress others. I don't have children. I plan to leave it all to carefully vetted organizations that rescue dogs, cats and wildlife. I'm sure the dogs, cats and wildlife will be thankful. I don't need them to be proud of me.

I'm going to stop use less spending and save as much as I can until I die. My goal is to leave at least 50,000 in the bank for my single daughter, she has a home I bought and I will leave her my annuity to pay the bills. There is nothing I really need, beyond up keep for house and car. I'm going to to my best for the next 5 years. I have no debt.

I love living frugal. My 250,000 co op is paid off. Sold house when children grew up. You don't get much in NYC....and I am not in Manhattan but a different borough of NYC. I am proud I am debt free...and most of my activities cost little or nothing. I still work part time on social security which starts never month. On no medication so no co payments. I walk everywhere so no car. I use my phone as a hotspot for my part time work from home. Children 39 and 27...and yes children are expensive but got good child support...and they turned out good. One a doctor...one a restaurant worker... I did splurge on a good bed and mattress for 3,000 but rest of furniture is less expensive. I bought home gym stuff...large mirror, mats, and weight....but no gym membership...I spent over about 1,500 on art..but love my home...so don't need to spend going out as much....and cooking from scratch allows me to enjoy the best meals ever!! I live near parks and beaches and ponds in my area of NYC...so free to enjoy nature....free books and DVDs from library...

Living like no one else may mean house sharing. I have been doing that with my dad and three siblings and it is working out great. We are all on fixed income and in various states of health so we support each other. From a financial standpoint you can’t ask for a better situation. So far the economy has had little effect on our quality of life.

Your bedroom is SO PRETTY! I especially love the painting above your bed and how you pulled out the blue and gold into your bedding - makes it look like a fancy hotel room. And hell yeah your mother would be so frickin' proud of you - you're the very definition of "No Excuses." Also - fairly low-speed DSL is the only option where I am and I can even do videoconferences on it and high def video streaming is usually not a problem at all. I was really surprised and I've been in IT for 25 years.

This lady simply illustrates the fact that we could all very likely be content with less material things and live a lifestyle that is balanced and prosperous. Even at your frugal livestyle......think how much better you have it than that of my parent's childhood. No electricity (used kerosene lamps). Life consisted of growing and canning own food. Outhouse was the bathroom. Washing all clothes by hand. No tv or radio (could not afford radio), etc. You are doing great and living great. The kids of today are not taught these things. The reason it's so hard to do what Prepper has done is that Americans are constantly bombarded with advertisements and media to "want" everything and to do anything to get it. As a result, going into debt is considered acceptable while taking action to reduce/avoid debt is considered weird. In reality, the opposit is true but the powers that be don't want you to know the truth because it's bad for business.

Prepper you are awesome! I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. We have always been frugal but never had to deal with such high inflation. I’ve been doing a lot of canning and baking bread. You have helped our family so much and I’m grateful you are sharing your wisdom with us because it really helps.

Hi Prepper Princess I have finally safely ordered your book on how to live on almost nothing. I hope to read this and learn how to save for my future retirement. It’s been a tough time for me. I wish you the best. I hope this time my card will be secure from hackers. Stay well and safe 👍💖

Love hearing your story. I am right there with you. Bought a house at 22 instead of marrying and kids, I stayed single and wish I had invested earlier than I did or at least contributed more. I now built up my rainy day fund to live off for at least two years if I lost my job tomorrow. Thankfully I had parents that were frugal and taught me the basics. I had lots of days eating ramen noodles to save every penny I could. It’s starting to pay off with close to 1k passive income a month now. Happy I found your channel! Thank you 🙏🏻

I gave up my bacon except special occassions, but sausage is just as much as pork chops and that's the cheapest meat around where I live.
