I like to live my life the simplest way that I can and I love it. Spending less, eating healthier, exercising more, owning less, reading more books, being more generous, complaining less, meditating more, praying often, and being grateful are my priorities for this year. Pretty cool, huh? Life is good 🙂🙂🙂

These videos always help me feel like less of a weirdo. I'm very content to work, walk my dogs around the neighborhood, ride my bike, read books, watch/listen to KZfaq videos while I knit or crochet, go to the library and get more books to read, movies to watch, etc. I also like to occasionally go to the thrift store. I definitely love my thrift shops.

That’s my life…I also have people saying to me what am I going to be doing on my next break. I’m going to be doing what you’re doing and what PP is doing, enjoying the area I live in and the free resources around me. The rest of my coworkers are bragging about the expensive vacations they’re about to go on, and look at me like I’m crazy for not wanting to travel expensively everywhere!

I used to love to travel but these days I love simple living. People think I'm depressed! Nope....just been there, done that! I don't need to travel far to sit in the sun, read a book and go out to eat. I can enjoy that right where I am and eat at home. When I do go out, I am shocked how much a dinner out will cost at a nicer restaurant. I don't do it often. I can't justify it any more and am happy at home.

I read, alot, drink tea, volunteer at rescuing Pitbulls, I have cats (I just lost my 2 dogs) I have a whole room that is my art space and I hike/run everyday. I have basic internet and whatever I can pick up on our antenna. Music is playlists I find on YT. I do pay for my park pass for the entire state of Texas and I do drive to car camp. It's my splurge. I live on 1/3 of my income. As my income has gone up, my frugal habits have kicked in even more. I have been around the world twice and I would travel more if it wasn't for people. LOL I hear and get you! I did a no buy all last year and I ended up only purchasing 1 pair of new pants (I tore a hole in my favorites and could not find a replacement at thrift), an thrifted bowl for my cats water, 2 large candles (1 was a gift!) and a pair of new work shoes. House items- I purchase 2 returned 5 gallons of paint and painted 2/3 of the inside of my house for less than $50. I like to challenge myself to be frugal, think of ways to save money, do things better, more efficiently.

About a year ago my 25 yr old son asked me what was wrong with a simple life. His friends are all about living expensive and fast. "Nothing" was my reply. He has just purchased his first house in a nice older neighborhood, has one of the lowest crime rates in town. Strangely now all those friends just want to visit his simple little house and all are trying to find ways of doing the same for themselves. Interesting.

I think social media (which I choose to not be a part of) has a lot to do with society propagating always having to show/post how grand and exotic and impressive you are. It must be exhausting - I bet a good majority of those folks are broke or house poor or living paycheck to paycheck or really should be saving for things that are way more important. I choose simple! Which is very enjoyable & brings me peace - once the house is paid off I’ll be debt free. I’ll take that any day over too many expensive vacations, and living outside of my means to keep appearances up. I love being home, taking walks, playing with my pup, going for bike rides, exploring, cooking and camping. I Enjoy hobbies like figuring out how to garden and ferment - I always pray…dear lord help me to always enjoy the little things and be acutely aware of it - help me to be a good steward of my money, my time, what I eat and what I buy. May you live in the moment and may that moment be simple. Much love to you - I really enjoy your content.

Dear Prepper Princess, you are missing the point.. The reason to go those places, is to see historical landmarks, art and culture. Take in the smells, the sounds and the taste of local cuisine. I have been all those places, including much of your country as well. You can go to Paris or London or Milano or Rome, and avoid the worst crowds, go in the low season. You can live and eat cheap. I do not live an extravagant life by any means. It all comes down to priorities. I am going to Rhodes, Greece this fall. I do not eat out, or go to the mall. I bring a packed lunch to work every day. I have a travel fund, as it is a priority. 💕 My thought is this, one day I will get old, and will I cherish the memories of how much money I saved, or the experiences I had? ⚖

I did not miss the point. I have seen many historical landmarks and was not impressed. Ate at local places, smelled lots of smells. I am not interested at all anymore. I did not enjoy myself. Just because you enjoy traveling doesn’t mean you should tell someone else the only reason they don’t enjoy it is because they are doing it wrong. I can guarantee you could take me on a trip anywhere, anytime and I would not enjoy myself.

@@PrepperPrincess I guess not, if you go with that attitude! 😉 I would not either to an underdeveloped country. It is important to feel safe, and be curious, let yourself be entertained, and enjoying seeing the Michelangelo statue of David for example.. When that is said, I didnt want to que up for hours, so I actually saw the copy at Duomo Square 😉 But you do you Princess, what about a cruise, all inclusive, bring a friend, laugh a little! 💕 Money can do many things for you, why not enjoy them? Most of the life is everyday, packed lunches and paying bills. Cherish the fun time too, have a fun-fund.

American here who grew up in a 3rd world country (Ecuador). Yes, yes, yes!! Please my fellow Americans, go visit a developing country, and don't just do the touristy stuff. Go off the beaten path and see how the rest of the world lives. It has made me sooooooooo appreciative of what I have here in the US compared to what I saw growing up in Ecuador. I wasn't poor, as my living standard was high there, but I saw grinding poverty all the time in my city. Not the poverty here in the US. I mean people who literally had nothing. No food, no housing, no shoes. Living on the street covered in newspapers. The homeless people in the US have tents and shoes at least. There, they didn't even have that. Thanks so much for these videos. A simple life is a fullfilling life. I love traveling, but I do so on the cheap and friends and coworkers often wonder why I visit small towns no one would ever think of visiting. The highlight of my recent Vegas trip was walking in the quiet of the nearby Utah desert appreciating the landscape and Yucca plants. Live life on your terms, save money, and enjoy the free things like a nice day at the park. Cheers!!!

Hi from northern Canada, I live on a cattle farm with my sweet husband. I love my simple life... waking up early to enjoy homemade coffee with my best friend before heading out with him to care for our animals, working outside in the fresh air, no gym membership required. Coming in to make a healthy homemade meal from homegrown ingredients, reading books and watching movies borrowed from the library. And when the kids come home, we play boardgames and card games... I am so grateful for this wonderful and fulfilling simple life. Everyone, no matter where you are, can apply frugal principles and choose gratitude!

Love it. I raised my children doing some mission work, working at a soup kitchen, going to a children’s hospital and donating time to play with kids (patients), working in the elderly’s yard. We could not afford overseas travel but this helped expose them to those less fortunate. We then adopted a child from foster care. I worked in the service industry which taught me a lot about character. At any rate now at 52 we are well off and I would say much of that is because we live simply. We could afford new cars, fancy clothes and a big house, however, that does not align with our values so we live on a farm (rescued animals), smallish home, used cars over 10 years old, simple clothes and vacations. We are very happy. When I got sick I was able to leave my job because we were prepared. I love simple living. It means reading books, taking walks, spending time with family, friends, and my animals, watching movies and other free to cheap activities. ❤ Thanks for sharing. You may have said this in another video, but I've always wondered if you have any hobbies. I quilt and crochet (for my sanity, I have to be creative in some way-I have a disabled veteran husband in chronic pain, chickens, gardens and more than one channel, rarely leave my property) and those do take some $$ for supplies and tools and a bit of storage space and even with frugality in effect, I don't get off without spending a few bucks here or there. Otherwise, I buy cheap clothing when I buy it at all, never go out to eat or travel, don't have a cellphone expense every month, no cable TV, have zero debt and a little bit in the bank. Maybe your channel is your hobby as well as your income? Just wondered, thanks in advance for your reply. ~Cynthia

My wife is not frugal like me, so I have to work to meet in the middle, but when we do find something in common that is cheap, its great!. We've discovered we both like to go to the local State Parks (within an hour of our location give or take). $50 for a year pass, we pack a snack, and one park gives out free coffee, so there's that. I didn't use to love nature like I do now, but as a creationist/Christian, its great to get in nature and feel closer to God's work, His beauty He's given us, and we get great exercise.

Agree about the out-of-country requirement! I went to a small general store down the street from my hotel in Amman, and the owner was so proud of his place and all he had to offer (this was less than 1K sq ft, with products up the walls to the ceiling), then going to Publix after coming home, and literally wanting to cry in an aisle full of cereal. After that I made sure both my kids experienced another part of the globe before going to college.

You're not boring! People live on credit and make poor financial decisions then complain. You are wise and live as a minimalist, nothing wrong with that. 😊

"...I don't even know the point of this video... Do you?!?" Good one, Princess you had me rolling on the floor. There's a subliminal reason you did it. Seriously, I agree with you on traveling. We need to see how the other half lives and how good us Americans got it.

I only eat out about 1 time month. Not to bad. Have not gone to movie in years. Love to rewatch my favorite movies. I’ve never been out country but plan. I’m 58 and plan travel limited to 3 trips. Yes I live mostly homebody life.

I'm afraid Amazonas River is in Brazil and Peru, South America. Nicaragua is far away from it, it's in Central America. I do agree people should lead a simple life.

I was accused of being boring when I was younger. I was simply frugal. Ask me if I care now ? NOPE. Now, I sit back and watch/ listen as these people with the expensive haircuts, shoes, clothing, and mini-mansions, the ones who take 3 or 4 expensive vacations a year, are crying about the rise in prices. I feel vindicated, lolol.

I am simple and boring. The most daring thing im wanting to do is car travel/camping. Otherwise im good at home watching shows, doing a puzzle or reading:) We are kindred spirits:)

It was nice to see the "green" in the background. I also used to buy Christmas gifts ahead of time. I give a litttle money now because they are older. Lastest problem is I had the gift envelopes two weeks before Christmas, and couldn't find them Christmas Day. It's really hard to get older. If I'm stressed at all, I forget. I will be surprised when I find those RED envelopes! Who loses RED Christmas envelopes? Me!

I bought a really cheap “cottage” in northern Michigan. Only because it’s cheaper to do that than stay in a motel. Now I can go more times a year. Cost is under $500 a year. Well and septic. Has electric but not connected.

I too am accused of being boring since after suddenly becoming widowed a couple years ago after 26 yrs of marriage. Recently on a couple dating sites and 90% of the gals want ocean cruises, beach living, exotic destinations, sky diving 😬 I'm financially independent, saved 25% or more for decades, cars and home paid for. But my aspirations are simple - camping, hiking, biking around this great country. Guess I'll get a dog. My cat hates campfires 😄

@@LA-wv7gf totally get it LA. I have no doubt that is common. Maybe if everybody is just more open and realistic about their daily life, fewer people would be single or lonely 😄 I also know 100% that women endure all kinds of crap and safety issues that men don't even think about. So I was not claiming to be a victim of anything. All the best to you!

You have the Best rambles Dear One.... Always inspiring. I love to camp.. but it was getting so oricey.. I ended up setting up a summer camp on my own property. It's cheaper... AND so much easier. 👍

If you're boring, so am I. I love staying home! A vacation to me means I don't have to go anywhere. Might go to the park and walk around the neighborhood more and chat with any neighbors who happen to be in their yards or also out walking.

Oh I think you have a lot of company in living a "boring life". My home is the woods and looking at the window at the animals and nature is my TV. I gave the TV to my ex and don't miss it because I really love You Tube. Been into thrifting since I was a kid and my friends and I used to find magazines and other things on trash day in the neighborhood. Walking my dog is the highlight of my day. I cook at home because I've got sick eating out so many times and I don't like being away for more than a couple of days. I don't think your life is boring at all, it's simple and peaceful.
