I've been teaching myself how to play guitar from KZfaq videos. Yours are the most clear and comprehensive, hands down. I'm not sitting there afterwards squinting at the video trying to figure out the strumming pattern or where the guitar chords and lyrics match up. I only wish there was more overlap in our taste in music so I could use more of your tutorials!

Alan, just gotta say. Purchased my first guitar 5 years ago. Couldn't practice much in the late hours, lessons are expensive. Since I've been working from home and picking up my guitar at least an hour every day. I keep hitting your video's when looking up songs I want to play, and it's definitely my favorite style of teaching. Makes it really easy to memorize the chords while seeing your motions and the strumming pattern at the same time. No unnecessary talking, and you have a great voice which just adds to the experience, and making really good progress now on my chord progressions. many thanks!

I've been playing guitar on and off for years now, and this is the first time I've actually seen a clear representation of the difference in sound in an upward sweep vs downward, cool stuff. Puts a lot of songs I've tried to learn in to perspective as I always thought the upward parts were just normal picking, but on the higher pitch strings

Thank you Alex, much appreciated. To be honest I don't do a lot of soloing. (my son plays lead in the band so I leave that to him), but I think repetition and varying the speed you play the solos during practice will help. Attempt to play faster than required then slow it down; this should increase your accuracy as you become more familiar with what you are playing :)

Hi mate, its a capo and I would recommend you get one, they are only about £5 on Amazon. They allow you to adjust the pitch of a song without changing the chords. You would not be able to play along with this video without one. Best wishes - Alan :)

Alan, Did you play this because you like the movie &/or show, M.A.S.H.? Curious cause it is SUCH an insightful & heavy song & not at all a "stupid song," as the movie's director asked that it be. does any one want to admit how much it takes to care this much? I think Alan maybe a bad old democrat. just saying. Man I wish my kids had had a teacher like him. They may still love music.
