And the reason for the creation of Suicide Squad is much more logical: illegal government black ops. Plausible deniability and all that. Even if they wanted to make them heroes, they should've started like that and then the government just uses to clean up their own mess...

When i saw this movie in IMAX, i couldnt help but compare to assault on arkham. Suicide Squad was such a disappointment.

Wouldn't make a difference without severely changing the script. It's not lack of violence that made the movie crap, it was lack of purpose and a cohesive, interesting story. The movie had no focus. Heck, I actually liked the whole 'Joker/Harley' relationship because of how messed up and co-dependent it was. Seemed like a very sick relationship, which helped sell it to me. The movie should've chosen something and stuck to it, whether it was Deadshot's struggle or Harley's messed up relationship. The rest should've been extras to that.

Even Harley's reason for participating is logical in that movie. It's not that's that great as a fighter, it's that she has an encyclopedic knowledge of Arkham Asylum!

About the Joker-Harley relationship in this movie, I think that it COULD have been a good change of pace like Doug said, if both Joker and Harley in this movie where better portrayed, and the relationship better writen. As is, it feels like the writers just went off the impression that fanart gave them instead of the lore.

I think what pisses me off the most about the DC movies is all the potential. Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad, all of them have interesting ideas. But those ideas are buried beneath a pile of dull-grey crap.

Killer Croc was badass in Arkham Asylum. He was a legitimate frightening villain. They made him three times taller though. He got a nice DLC-sidestory in Arkham Knight.

Literally they changed it all up to rip off the soundtrack thing and the witty one liners, flawed characters who are just about redeemable. This movie was okay. Like BvS, it's just okay. Both BvS and Suicid Squad have got a lot of problems, but it also has a lot of things to like about it. Still wish they had built up first to these movies, but you know, DC is trying to be their own thing, and not rip off Marvel.

#2 reason I expected it to be in the review. She freaken goes and "murders" 3 ppl working for her and the reason is because that they knew too much.....an yet Flag was ok by her doing that? that was completely out of character.

4) That's not how the movie ends. It ends with Waller telling Bruce Wayne "I'm pretty screwed by how badly my plan went so here are the files you asked for in return for your protection." And then Bruce tells her that he's making friends and that she should "shut it down or my friends and I'll do it for you."

Love 3:15 "So she's the bad guy." Actually, yeah. Amanda Waller is the villain of Suicide Squad. Waller assembles the suicide squad (a demi-god, a collection of thugs and one guy who's sometimes a couple of flamethrowers) who're the cause of all the destruction and death in the film (because the Enchantress was a member; even the Joker's only active because Harley) for purposes of stopping another Superman-level threat (a thing that they couldn't _possibly_ do) and that turn out to actually be intended as her own covert ops squad. Because Amanda Waller is the villain of the film. She acts like a Bond-style mastermind right down to a hidden lair and executing lackeys (public employees, btw, same as anyone working at the DMV) while torturing someone into cooperating (the enchantress again) and keeping a hostage (incubus). She's not clever, she's not some social engineer who's the best in the world at "making people work against their own interests" (unless she's also counting herself), she's not some ruthless-but-loyal government hatchetwoman. She's a Bond villain. A bad one because it's pure plot contrivance she isn't dead by films end. The only thing saving her is that she's in a world without heroes. Yes, I'm counting Batman.

4:12 Not only was spraying "Ha Ha" repeatedly on the wall stupid, it was something they took from _Batman Beyond_ without understanding why it worked. In Batman Beyond, Terry McGuinness (the new Batman) comes home to find his dad dead and "Ha ha" painted all over the walls, but it was a corporate villain that killed his dad, and the "ha ha" was to make it look like Jokers: delinquents that are poor imitators of The Joker, killed him. The "ha ha" was a poor imitation of a poor imitation of The Joker. In the movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, The Joker does paint "Ha Ha" all over the walls of the Batcave, but he does so because he knows Terry will show up and find Bruce mortally-wounded with Joker gas; it's a genuinely sick and twisted way of telling Terry he's about to lose another father-figure, and thus something The Joker would actually do.

TheDisneyLover58 Im not talking about the review, im talking about his COMMENT. And the movie made her a collossal fuckup. The Justice League cartoons showed how great Waller is, she was a WALL! A wall that only gods could scale but only at great risk. That Amanda would of had all of these loons in check as well as Batman. If I hated this movie for anything, its making Amanda a joke, but thats the closest thing to a Joker we got in this movie. I'd hate it, but this movie hasnt really sparked any significant emotion out of me. Its like loosing sleep, upset you lost the time, but not enough to do anything about it and just move on..

I agree, although I don't understand why they thought it was Egyptian. Actually I am Mexican and watching this at the theater, hearing diablo cursing like we do was the most unexpected and hilarious thing in the whole movie, the whole audience in my theater burst out with laughter and it was everyone's favorite part, they were clearly thinking of latin viewers with this line and I appreciate that. :) The rest of the movie is SHIT though. :v

Honestly, my favorite line was "Normal is a setting the washing machine honey." And then she sets her washing machine to normal in her fantasy. That's the thing that made me laugh most.

The sad part is that we all know Leto has the chops to do it (and I am not even a fan) but he got stuck with a very shitty version of the character.

Also, the whole "for the fans" schtick, it's kind of annoying for people that either don't have the time, money, or aren't even close to places that sell all of the comics to get on track. And some comics are so hard to follow that you have to look up an entire guide list on what to read and which to read first! Imagine my confusion when I started reading Spider Gwen and having to look up exactly what happened in the past to undertstand what they were talking about.

To be fair, it wasn't even really a defense for this movie anyway. The characters are either so different or their backstories matter so little that it doesn't matter if you know it or not.

I despised the soundtrack to this movie. All good songs, but so out of place, slapped in on a near constant basis and so embarrassingly desperate to copy Guardians of The Galaxy (I guess totally missing the in story justification for the songs presence in the film and how the music was integral to the arc and backstory of its central character.)

I actually liked Enchantress having to do the dancing for her spells, made it seem far more witchcrafty, sorcery, black magic, pagan, etc... than the usual 'hold out arms' 'point hand' 'wiggle fingers' magic we see most of the time.

I really like the character intros for this movie, they were pretty enjoyable, but after that when we get to the "plot" it goes so bad so quickly!

M S Ram it’s late but eh Essentially they were talking about How Metropolis and Gotham both are based off of Chicago to an extent so making THIS city also look like Chicago makes it seem like the exact same city.

Personal opinions from what I remember: 1. I actually really liked Jared Leto as The Joker. He's no Mark Hamill, he's no Heath Ledger, and he's not trying to be; he's doing his own take (with some influence from them) and I like what they did with him. 2. "El Diablo" man turning into the fire god at the end was friggin' awesome 3. Will Smith was just fun to see in this. Once he starts shooting stuff, ya just don't want him to stop 4. Batman never goes wrong or bad (unless it's "Batman and Robin")

I honestly think that would have been better if they'd left about 30 more minutes of footage in the movie. More time the flesh out the team, and the Joker. Time to reveal Katana and Slipknot properly(that way it would actually be shocking when he died). Time to show what happened to the guard. Time to explore all the members of the Suicide Squad to the same degree as Harley Quinn and Deadshot. Time to make them feel more like a team. Also, while I love reading comics, I shouldn't be required to read them in order to get what's going on. A good adaptation makes you want to read the source material. A bad adaptation requires you to read the source material.
