For those wondering why she was so emotional and apprehensive with singing it wasn’t because she was shy (anyone who knows Anne knows she’s never been shy) it’s because that song was played at their wedding

These two actors will alway be the Anne and Gilbert for me. They made those characters alive in a way that I imagine it and even if there are others these two will forever be mine.

When Gil says "Oh, tell me I'm not dreaming" into her shoulder...gives me goosebumps every time. The way he holds her so tight and has that sound of desperate unbelief with a tiny glint of pure, innocent hope in his voice... it's like he has been so homesick for his wife that he's dreamed of her so often yet has become so accustomed to the thought that he might die in this foreign country surrounded by pain, that now she's in front of him he's desperately hoping it isn't fake because he knows the joy is too overwhelming and heartbursting that it seems almost too good to be true. ❤️ And it doesn't seem over dramatized or over the top, it's just him crying into her shoulder, totally raw and transparent, almost silently praying that's it's real. Gives me hope for what real love is like!

Anne and Gil are indeed a love story for the ages. The moment they look at each other and then embrace tears at the heartstrings. My tears always follow. Rest in peace Gil.

I don't care. I don't care that this has nothing to do with the books. I don't care that it makes NO SENSE for Gilbert to be a soldier in WW1. I just don't care. I just love seeing Anne and Gilbert together. And this scene is EVERYTHING. I don't care... LOL. I don't even hate Jack like everyone else, he was not a bad person, he was genuinly in love with Anne and he didn't deserve to die. :) Anyways, I don't care. Everytime I watch the movies again, i always watch this third one as well, cause... I just don't care that this makes no sense. Rest in peace, sweet Jonathan Crombie.

I know a lot of people don't care for this third installment, but I still love it, inconsistencies and all. We got to see Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie play Anne and Gilbert one last time. That alone makes it special to me.

I love the attention to details of this scene! The make up on both Anne and Gilbert make them look tired, exhausted, run down. The tight belt on Gilbert implies he's hardly had much to eat, being forced to work for the Germans as a doctor. The way he hugs Anne and just breathes her scent in! Oh, my heart!

I hate how so many people don't like the third movie. I think it's just because they were expecting it to be based off the other books, but if you take all of the expectations and pay attention to the movie it's a really lovely movie. And this seen is one of my F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E-S! It's so sweet how Gil knows it's Anne just by her voice and Anne is so emotional about the song (because it was the one played at their wedding) Soulmates. 🥰

I am so happy that Meagan Follows and Jonathan Crombie were in all 3 movies!

I am SOBBING. She searched so long for him, and he heard her voice over all that noise and he KNEW it was his beautiful Anne. When they saw each other again, it was like he was seeing the sun again. Everything else faded away and he ONLY saw her. The moment when they hugged was just beautiful. You could FEEL their joy at being reunited, and her knowing Gilbert was safe. I honestly told Jack to GO AWAY and stop interrupting their beautiful reunion. I am glad they found each other again.

I love how he finds her because of her singing, its so sweet and romantic.

😭😭😭😭 The recognition on Gil’s face when he hears Anne’s voice and the look on both of their faces before the embrace. Perfection. Well, nearly.. a perfect embrace to me is slightly different but for them it is perfection.

I never loved this movie because there wasn’t enough Anne/Gil time and the story seemed so dramatic and far-fetched BUT I am a total sucker for this scene - I get goosebumps and melt into a sobbing puddle every time!

Jonathan will ALWAYS be Gilbert for me. I remember watching Anne when it was first shown (I was 15) & loved it & that gorgeous scene in the sequel on the bridge. My daughter's the same age I was and its poignant rewatching these with her. I admit I've shed more than a box of tissues, remembering how brilliant Jonathan & Megan were together ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Even though it doesn’t go with the story, I have loved Anne of Green Gables for years, and this scene is wonderful. When Anne replies “my love” and Gil “my darling my dream” it just makes me want to cry. I will always enjoy seeing Anne and Gil together.

This scene will always be one of my favorite Anne & Gilbert scenes. Jonathan and Megan did an excellent job portraying their characters and will always and forever be Anne and Gilbert to me!

Sullivan Entertainment was wonderful in bringing back these two talented actors along with some of the original cast like Diana. The chemistry between Megan & Jonathon was so romantic. Thank you for capturing it.

This is what true love should be really like in the movies.

I consider this film its own stand alone story. Sort of like an alternate universe. I love it, but it has nothing to do with the real story.

As out of place as this movie was, I can’t help but love it! This scene never fails to make me cry like a baby! I love the song and how genuine and raw Megan’s voice is as she sings.

It always makes me so emotional that Anne was singing their wedding song! :( RIP Jonathan

Her reaction always makes me bawl. I watched this series since I was a little girl. It’s always been my favorite version of Anne of Green Gables.

Beautifully done!!! Jonathan is walking with angels!!! He is missed very much. They would have made a beautiful couple in real life.

I love love love the first two movies. The third one feels out of place. However I do think this scene is very good indeed.

And then bloody Jack comes along and interrupts their moment. Can you just stand aside Jack for five bloody seconds?

awww I hate that they made up this plot when there are so many perfectly good sequels, but like..... it's kind of worth it for this scene.

To this day I still don’t understand why some people hate on this movie. I am a huge LMM fan and absolutely love everything she ever wrote, but I couldn’t care less that this movie contradicts the books. For me it’s just a lovely excuse to see Follows and Crombie and their wonderful chemistry onscreen.☺️

Still by far, probably my favorite part of this movie. ALWAYS makes me cry. Every. Time.

I just watched my video of this today. What a coincidence I saw it just now on YT. And by the way, I totally cry even more now than I did originally because of Jonathan Crombie's untimely death in 2015. He was such a fantastic actor. Totally miss him!!!

I LOVE this moment! I know people get testy that this wasn't in the books and the timelines don't match up, but the characters work perfectly in this story. Gilbert would have gone to war. He would have felt honorbound. Jack would have fallen for Anne. They all do. And if Gilbert had gone missing Anne would have taken Europe apart with her bare hands to find him.

I have seen the whole story from the beginning to end...i could not believe that i heard about Jonathan Crombies death. R.I.P Jonathan Crombies alias Gilbert Blythe. Hope it will be shown on tv again.

L. M.Montgomery's books were terrific and I read the first one when I was 11. My best friend recommend me them, we still know each other after 55 years! The description of various scenes in Montgomery's writings were evocative of island life... I vaguely remember, in one book, everyone driving home in a carriage on a moonlit night, poetically describing the night scene. So much of it was funny and yet grown up for children to read and adults to enjoy. It has withstood the test of time

This scene was so well acted, it stuck with me for years. I just spent the past few hours online finally digging into WHICH adaptation it was from, and I'm so glad I found it! Breathtaking acting.

This is so cute, because Anne and Gilbert and reuniting with each other. No wonder Megan Good and Jonathan Crombie were perfect fits for the characters in these movies that were based on the novel, "Anne of Green Gables" by Lucy Maud Montgomery. 😂 💛

If I remember at the time people didn't like the 3rd movie because it didn't follow the books, but I don't think they ever gave it a chance! it is such a beautiful story in its own right and the screenwriters did a fantastic job at developing the characters, putting them thru more trials and having them come out even stronger. And of course the acting is top notch!!! I wish there were many more movies with these 2 together. Most of all I love how it comes full circle at the end with Dominic at the train station; it is the perfect conclusion to the series and wouldn't have been possible if they followed the books. There is nothing wrong w the later books but they are not as suited to TV and I see why they wanted to go in a different direction to give us this amazing movie that really shows the full range of who these characters are.

I was really looking forward to see where they were going to go with Anne with an E in the coming seasons. I still have faith that they will bring it back! I think Anne is such a good story there could have been 5 or more seasons and the show wouldn't get old. No matter the adaptation Anne of Green Gables is a great story!

My goodness! I;m Canadian and so proud that this was so good that it was award winning! The reason the CONTINUING STORY was written, was because people from all over Canada and the USA felt as if trey should have seen Anne and Gilbert get married! FINALLY! My elf I feel it was done incredibly well! I guess some people on here thought it should't have been done. WHY NOT? The whole of the story from the time Anne leaves the orphanage and ends up living at GREEN GABLES ( Marilla and her brother ) thus is the beginning of a great FICTION ( this story was never based on fact! ) It's shocking how millions of people think ANNE OF GREEN GABLES really existed. Being fiction all along; why not have had what we all longed to see? THAT wonderful happy ending? < ( The Continuing Story DVD)> IT wasn't against the law for the script writers to do this. They waited years before doing the continuing story in order that Megan looked her age as well as Gilbert; not being kids anymore. So putting in the first world war was a really good twist to the story! IT was sad, exciting, breath taking and oh; ... the reuniting of Anne and Gilbert being husband and wife just couldn't have been done any better! The actor who played the role of Gilbert died years ago at only 48 years old! His story of reality came to an end on earth, but ANNE OF GREEN GABLES lives forever with Jonathan in every story from beginning to end; a happy ending for us to see, wishing the story was true all along, from beginning to end; ... but non-the less; this award winning series of ANNE OF GREEN GABLES will live on; ... from generation to generation; making me even happier that a Continuing Story was produced!

Anne Of Green Gables, and the 2 other films are some of the best films I've ever seen

That stillness that came over her when she thought she saw him but didn't believe her eyes and then that small hopeful smile. Priceless. My daughters were born in '84 and '86 and grew up with all of the series. We marathoned our way through blizzards and snowdays. Chicken pox and strep throats. Gilbert and Ann. Diana and Marilla and Matthew....part of our lives. Quality parts. Loved parts.

I started watching this because My sister picked a movie and I was like “meh” when I first see the CD. And today I finished it all and I’m thankful to her!

Omg I love these movies I grew up on the first 3 and didn't even know this one existed until I was in my late teens, these are my all time favorites.

She has such a beautiful voice

The first time I saw Anne of Green Gables was in the 7th grade, so 10 years ago. I remember laughing so much when Anne accidentally got Diana drunk. I just finished watching it again last night and I still laughed at the same moments that I did the first time. This scene always gets my heart pumping and I alway sing along. I freaking love this movie. I'm watching the Netflix original, it's good but it's not this good.

I also wanted to add that the reason and doesn't want to sing the song is because that's what was playing when she Anne Gill married each other that was essentially their first dance as a married couple so it takes her a little while to want to sing it that's why she almost has her eyes closed the whole time she's singing it. I've been on the other side of those unexpected hugs from someone you have an expected to see was in the military and let me just tell you that when I saw a friend of mine after 20 years our hug was about as long and I didn't want to let him go either!
