Man Ernie Isley like a howling wind coming from the north . You’re standing outside on a cold winter day, it’s freezing and all along the mountain top is this wind. It’s swirling around penetrating your body. You shudder and then the calmness comes over you. It’s like when you hear it you know on every song you going to get the best. That’s Ronnie Isley. Listen to his vocal range as it goes through the stratosphere. My my one of the greatest from Shout, It’s your thang, Put it in the lay away, Summer Breeze, and on and on. Those can be so lucky as I was growing to some of the greatest music ever written produced and performed. L B Nov 2022

I need someone to come with a definitive documentary on The Isley Brothers. Their career has spanned over 50 years as not only performers but as a self contained band and record label owners. They’ve impacted many and have managed to stay relevant when many of their peers couldn’t keep up with the ever changing tastes of musical trends. I salute TIB

Now, I know how great James Brown was. Then, not so much. I always knew that Al Green was unique. How could you not. But my favorite, besides the guy from The Stylistics, was Ronald Isley. It was cause of "Who's That Lady." Was there ever a voice that went with a guitar so well? I'd hear Ronald sing, or Michael Jackson sing " Got To Be There, " then Stevie Wonder's "If You Really Love Me" then Curtis Mayfield "Freddie's Dead/Superfly," top it off with Sly's" Family Affair" ...70's soul/r&b went way, way beyond Soul Train and any other connotation. I bet Seals and Croft were dam n proud to hear the Isley Brothers do "Summer Breeze."
