It's always fun to get a little heads up on what's in and out of fashion but the important thing is to not take the trends too seriously. I mean if you love wearing something and it fits your style and your lifestyle then it's definitely for you - regardless of what is trending in fashion. So this video is my observation of fashion trends that are less popular and the trends that are replacing them. But please remember if you love something just wear it - that's the most important part of fashion in my opinion. The clothes we wear are there to make us look and feel great and to keep us warm, (or cool) and protected so if you love something please, please, please wear it and enjoy it.

Wide leg trousers have been a staple classic since the twenties when all the artist types wore them around the French Riviera including Coco Channel. They will never go away - thank goodness!

I still like wearing biker shorts in the summer. They pair well with oversized tees and button up shirts. I don’t wear the shiny ones though. Mine are made of a thick almost fine knit material. Plus they’re super comfy

Agree with all but IMO cigarette pants are classic and will never go out. Also IMO. I don't think the wide leg leather trend will last. Anyway, it's always fun to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing!

Manufacturers are pushing these “terry” (terrycloth) pieces this season. Beware, this is just another way they’re trying to get us to accept polyester clothing, I’m not buying it. What could be hotter and less breathable for summer than knitted polyester?

I agree but I also have a terrycloth-lined swimsuit cover up and it makes it so I don’t have to bring a towel to the water. Would NEVER wear for everyday

I wear leggings but only under dresses or tops that cover my backside. No mesh leggings in my wardrobe, but I've discovered that leggings with pockets are amazing!

Bit short and sweet today Leonie! It was over before I knew it! I liked the knitted shorts sets you showed- they looked like a romper suit but neater and easier to wear than an all in one. I don’t own any mesh leggings. I would wear them, but only underneath a maxi skirt on a cooler summer day.

I dont really have a lot of stuff only leggings. Also, I sort of gravitated to high waited bootcut leggings. Im not sure it they are in or out. I just kind of wanted something reminiscent of Y2K but minus the low waist.

I did wear leggings with mesh inserts, but got rid of them a long time ago, I've had my leggings with the slit for almost a year. HATE bike shorts as shorts, but they are great under dresses. I love sneakers, but never the dad sneakers, my feet don't need to look any bigger than they already are😂

@@Thestyleinsider. 😁 Hurrah for Shackets! 🎉 A collared shirt can be perfect as a light covering or stylish topper piece. 💜SS camp style shirts serve delightfully in scorching hot weather🥵〰️while 💜LS shirts work when either you're worried about excessive exposure to ☀️UV rays or it chills😨. 😬 It doesn't mean you have to dress like some backwoods 🪓 lumberjack in flannels or forego style altogether. 😉Although personally I don't mind a cosy Northwoods🦌 or a grunge 🛹 look, it's just not my regular vibe. 💜Do love a classic, relaxed fit blazer, but it's not something I can easily survive 🌱outside 🏙 in my 😎Mediterranean-Desert climate. They're awesome for when the mercury drops🌡or you're in a 🥶 "refrigerated" bldg (ofc, library, bank, hospital, theatre, church, etc.) for long blocks of time⏰️. 🤣 Sadly, both 🚬 cigarette tapered style pants & excessively voluminous trousers that I 💜adore also exaggerate my shorter legs🪵, esp. when I don't wear heels. 😖Don't do a lot of pants〰️but a highwaisted, slightly relaxed &/or drapey straight cut trouser can balance out a long torso & be more leg lengthening ↕️. Shackets really aren't going anywhere....mostly because they are just a heavy shirt. But skinny trousers were never. thing as far as I could tell. Skinny jeans, yes. But trousers?

I am so glad those styles are out. I always diisliked leggings with the cutouts. Also good riddance to the dad sneakers. I hope that the crocks and the Birkenstocks are next. I do love a bright metallic Birkenstock though. I hope that the classic 70s Pumas are going to come back.

I never got into the bike short trend however I enjoyed the leather trend. I don’t like faux leather but last year I thrifted some real leather wide leg pants! I’m thrilled! I have decided I am done with oversized blazers, I can’t seem to find one that fits me. However, I can style oversized T-shirt’s!

Totally agree with on-point trends! Especialy on pants, I ony see wide trousers and I don't see or wear cigarette pants anymore. I do have cigarette tailored pants and I could wear them to work, but it doesn't look right for everyday street look. Also my trendy colleagues wear wide trousers or wide jeans ;)

This was helpful as always but I was distracted by the *red check marks* ! The check marks are *supposed to be green* ! When I glance at the screen and see anything red that means "no" it's out. When I see the "in" things marked in red it confuses me. A small point that I had to address because it was disturbing throughout an otherwise informative video! 😄

I really love the wide pants style but I find them harder to wear than more streamline styles. Specifically, I am 5' 7'', long and thin legs but unfortunately I do have a larger breast for my size which I typically try to hide with loose tops. With this wide pants I end up looking wide and baggy everywhere! I am just not comfortable with tiny body hugging tops and I do see this wide pants styled like this a lot. Any suggestions from the fashion stylists out there? Thanks so much !

Hello! I hear you and I think you can wear straight jeans or straight formal-ish pants that are in trend right now.The idea is to move slightly away from skinnys but not go to bell bottoms if thats not what you want.Plus they'll still look good with looser tops. Also you can wear wide leg pants with striped loose tshirts or knits like Jane Birkin used to. They look really cool and retro! You can also wear looser tops with shorts and skirts. They're all back in trend and look so flaterring!

I like wide leg pants. Definitely getting for fall trouser or boot cut kind of dark denim or pants, not too wide. I have too many of those😜 Sneakers ,well as long ,as its high platform like 2+ inches, i am ok. I have a few sleeker ones from Chanel, but when i wear mini dresses , i need my platform snickers. I dont like too bulky, i am thinking of getting Alexander McQueen more sleek but still platform ones. I have big size, so most of my designer sneakers from men collections😂 Thank God, that these days they dont differ much from women sneakers. Leggings i dont like too much. I have one very interesting pair , from Chanel. Its just very interesting fabric, not too tight, but still i mainly wear them with boots. Looser tshirts are ok, but not too lose/shapeless. I have hourglass figure, so for me, baggy waist,doesnt do anything good. I do wear sometimes, but mostly, i like to accentuate my slim waist. But of course overall t shirt doesnt have to be tight always.I actually just purchased interesting white tee from Isabel Marrant , and i got size bigger, so it would have little bit more oversized look on top, and then it goes in corset type off 😜Have a blessed day🙏🧡 .

No I didn't buy those leggings with the cut-outs. The salesgirl told me that they helped with sweating. A major turn-off for me. I don't want to advertise that I'm sweaty. But I am sad about the faux leather leggings though.

Mesh leggings would only be workout wear for me. I only wear regular pull on stretch knit legging and I have had mine for a long time in several colors and probably would not replace them once they get worn out. I do like the look of the split but I am sure that look could be costly (it too warm now to wear them). I never ventured into the dad sneaker realm because I just did not like them and I consider my old (vintage because I am old) would do and now because these are a thang it can be on the expensive side. I always have been a fan of wide leg pants, so I do already have them in my wardrobe and always ready to add a new addition. I never would invest in the leather leggings because they would be pleather and I am not a big fan of fake leather becuase they tend to break down from wear and tear. I have purchased some second hand my first geniune leather pants off Poshmark for the coming Fall/Winter season. Bought biker shorts when they were trendy two years ago, but never wore them now that I’ll be going on holidays I’ve no shorts to wear but those biker ones. (I’m a minimalist so I don’t see point in buying stuff that I’ll only be wearing once or twice a year) So they’re not out for me just yet 😅 with that being said I’d love a pair of Bermuda style shorts 😂

As Leonie said, thrift a pair of ordinary jeans that fit you well. You can then cut the legs to your preferred length and turn up the cuffs. It’s a trend now. No sewing involved! Then ditch the biking shorts that you don’t even like.

I LOVE the look of leather pants but oh my God they seem so hot and uncomfortable! and wouldn't they get creases in them from you sitting down and wearing them? and wouldn't they not breathe and wouldn't they restrict your movement? they just seem like the skinny jeans from hell LMAO I really love what they look like though!

Agree. Have to pick and choose according to your height and body shape. It’s not a one size fits all Why bother with a trend that does absolutely nothing for you when you could be wearing something that flatters and makes you look and feel great?

I always thought mesh leggings were gym wear, not street wear. Also very wide leg pants tend to swamp us petite girls. We are not all six feet tall.

Hate the direction fashion is taking today... oversized, everything is purposely chunky & "ugly" ... you have to show skin somewhere, wear heaps of make up or heels to look anything like a woman. Disgusting imo
