The Fine Bros were once KZfaq's biggest react channel... well prior to the year 2020 when Benny Fine would be exposed for his questionable past. The REACT channel's viewership has since fallen from approximately 150 million views per month to only 10 million per month, representing a decline of over 90%. It became so bad for the Fine Brothers, that they had to sell their channel to Electric Monster Media in late 2021, concluding the downfall of The Fine Bros AKA React.
This is, Why The Fine Bro’s React Failed (-92% in 3 years)
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2 XO ❤
The idea for this video was partially inspired by "Bills" who posted a video on a similar topic in June 2022 titled "The Complete Downfall Of The Fine Bros AKA React!" You can watch his version here - • The Complete Downfall ...

@@anaparioWTF are you talking about, "racism and sexism?" That's the kind of nonsense woke types throw around so they can cancel people and get attention and money. "you can damn well assume they 'enjoyed their time' around these kids." No, we don't assume that. There's still a little thing called due process. One of the producers took advantage of her, while she was still underage, that's pretty clear. But there's no evidence the Fine Bros. had anything to do with that. Do you have any, or are you assuming that, too? "Don't go on defending the fucking Fine Bros 6 months later." Been a lot more than 6 months, right? Funny thing is there is still a pretty big “react” genre on KZfaq but people being themselves and responding to full length films and TV shows, not one-off viral novelties that aren’t as uniting anymore. That’s a lot more fun and personable than anything the FineBros ever did. EDIT: one small note-Lia Marie Johnson notably shared her story a couple of months ago, she explained that when she first moved to LA, that for years she was drinking, doing drugs and partying almost every night. She moved to LA at 17. She’s been in jail cells, on the streets, in psych wards and in rehabs. She’s now 26, sober and living happily in a quaint little town in England with her boyfriend. I couldn’t help but think where the hell the adults in her life such as the Fine Bros were when all of this was happening. They really had such little interest in the lives of the young people in their videos? And that’s with Lia being almost the face of their channel. I hope Lia stays sober, happy and well. And like that dude said, fuck the Fine Bros.

You can totally tell in their "apology" that they were only mad because their little scheme to copyright reaction videos didn't work. I find it ridiculous that they were trying to act like we didn't just hear them say what we all know they just said! I remember watching the Kids/Teens react videos. They were fun for a while but you really start to notice the cringe. I get that these are kids or young teens, but they acted like they had never seen a computer or an old game console. The videos are always framed in a way that make it look like the kids had no idea what this ancient machine was or how it would work.. Then the whole "react trademark" thing happened. They most definitely were trying to trademark reaction videos as an entire genre, then quickly back peddled to say "no no, just our very specific format". Its just one of those situations where you sit back and think "why did they ever think that would work?," Like there wouldn't be a tsunami of backlash.

Last I've heard, he was trying to make a niche shop - online shop of elite brands of small children clothes (like, pre-teens, but expensive AF) and then I checked last year what he's up to and apparently he's bankrupt and in a boatload of debt. Which is a weird shame. The shop wasn't that bad. It was, actually, pretty good. I'm not exactly sure why it was that plagued with issues, honestly. I feel like they should have franchised and seeked more aggressive investing options or something. But then again, that's not the point, the point is that same as these guys, that's some balls, but the bigger the balls, the easier it is to get punched in them by the universe, it seems.

yeah i feel the same way. If you talk about a cause it has to have some kind of backing (charity, personal experience, its a movement you care about ect). Companies that make empty statements about a cause are things i just tend to ignore, but it feels bad when that company or group is actively doing things that go against the thing they just promoted. Like, obviously there's a huge chance they did it for clout in the first place but having hard proof that they don't care sucks. That's when people start to point things out and get really upset.

Prior to the Podcast completely taking off, it just seemed like he was a good person and model content-creator for the platform. It is a personal opinion, but I think the Podcast changed him. Maybe hot take, but I don't believe Ethan is happy at all with the Podcast or, seemingly, his life, not sure if it's the constant drama the podcast seems to bring, his need to be "on" so much, or if he just isn't having fun anymore. Just feels like it turned him into a lazy, hateful, ignorant, and surprisingly humorless person. That last one still kinda shocks me, but by the time the stuff with Keemstar came around, it just seemed like the Podcast was completely devoid of humor and instead built around internet gossip and rumor. They weren't trademarking the word react in all uses. They were trademarking it specifically within the context of youtube videos and related contexts (so visual media, online etc), which is how trademarking works. You generally pick specific contexts where that word/phrase is used. My favourite example being the nail brand Holo Taco by Simply Nailogical, since she explained how it worked. She has copyright over the phrase Holo Taco for cosmetics and apparel, and got in a legal kerfuffle with Taco Bell (I think) bc they had a limited release Holo Taco (details are fuzzy but I think the Taco shell had flecks of edible glitter). No actual copyright infringement happened because Taco Bell had the trademark in food/consumables but there was enough confusion caused that thier lawyers had to have a little chat. Both companies made a statement that the two weren't related & the edible Holo Taco finished it's limited run. What the Fine Bros were trying to do would've been futile anyways because once a copyrighted term becomes part of the public vernacular you can no longer claim it as copyright eg. Zipper, cola, vasaline, sticky note, scrunchie Edit: spelling, readability

Good. I was a fan of their show until they starting this whole controversy. Whenever I see their React logo or the words "the fine bros", I immediately feel disgusted and just ignore or remove from my recommended list (on all platforms). Thank goodness everyone REACTED to this whole thing. Cannot imagine a world where these "bros" control all reacts and even worse, making free money from other content creators.

the kids and teens in the React channel have come forward, saying things like… they were forced to have certain reactions/say specific comments They weren’t actually reacting, they were being told what to say and do. The people behind that channel had it coming.

Imagine having the level of entitlement, hypocrisy, greediness, and delusion like the Fine bros. They used other people's content while copyright striking other channels because they somehow believed they own the reaction genre. Mfs out here really thinking they own a certain type of content on the internet. Also had no idea of the BLM drama til today. Dang, they're really digging their own graves. No matter how you look at it, their failure was well deserved. They earned every right to be hated on. I wish nothing but the worst for the Fine bros.

Don't put it past them. Disney literally tried to copyright Loki, as in the original Norse God worshipped by Vikings during the Bronze Age, because they made Loki, the Marvel character as played by Tom Hiddlston, popular. You literally cannot joke about media corporations doing outlandish things. They will take it as a challange.

They got too greedy and they got political. That's two of the worst thing you can do in your internet career. They could've just leave the whole reacting genre alone and continue on or used other react creators to create "reactors react". It was fun when it lasted. The also rode the BLM bandwagon without even checking or cleaning their fingerprints. Stopped watching their videos immediately when they announced the react world program.
@justanotheryoutubechannel

I remember seeing the controversy back then and I always thought they could never manage to trademark the concept of a reaction video, it’s so general of an idea, it would be like trying to trademark tires, or trademarking newsreaders. These morons just really thought they owned a genre despite knowing they didn’t, and they seem ridiculously entitled. Good thing they failed miserably.

Bluetooth is in everything to expensive earbuds to cheapy crap ones and they all gotta pay to use it and everything else under the sun.

One relatively small factor that I think also contributed to this was that when COVID hit, they had the people react from home on their computers for a while (which was kinda weird but I guess they didn’t have too many options) And once they came back, everything felt different and a bit strange. Lighting was off, they would throw in random, dumb unnecessary edits to grab your attention, and since then the style has only changed more. To a lot of fans like me who watched them before, it almost doesn’t feel the same show anymore.
