If you wanna see high fashion meets video games, there's Final Fantasy 15. The character designer is very specifically a fashion designer, not a video game character designer, which is why the characters have a more contemporary fashion about them.

Harlan Nguyen Essentially, as much as Japan likes to cover it up, at the time (and debateably, even today with their descendants), there was a lot of descrimination toward nuclear survivors. Not to paint everyone with the same tar, but the things said could be comparable to the prejudice towards people with AIDS during the 70s and 80s. I don't exactly know who's idea it was, but someone working on Ultra 7 decided to make a monster based off of these people, nuclear burns and all. The whole episode was done, but when they showed it to test audiences, there was unsurprisingly a ton of backlash. One trademark thing of the monster was his facial features and skin tone, both of which carried over to Twelve.
