So do you need to wrap the yarn around the needle for the amount of to be cast on?

This is great but it doesn’t say which yarn goes around your thumb and which is in your right hand. I’m assuming the right hand is the working yarn, therefore that comes from the ball of yarn?

Where is the'knit' yarn coming from? The long tail I start with is just a tail so where am I knitting from???

Same as long tail cast on. The left hand has a long tail and the right hand has the working yarn from the ball.

If you hit the Liked icon on the right of screen, it saves shorts to your liked section of files within KZfaq. I do it all the time. Hope this helps.
