Which version of Super Mario Bros. 2 did you guys play growing up?

Yo this game is very underrated

Oh wow, I had no idea Doki Doki Panic was originally meant to be a Mario game. I guess that explains why they picked that game to reskin as a Mario game in North America, because it was originally meant to be one anyway. That would also explain why some of the enemies came back for future Mario games.

Coop is back! I love this game despite it not being the original SMB2. The reason being that the unique 'Doki-Doki' gameplay gave the game an interesting identity. I must admit that it pales in comparison to 3, but the official SMB2 didn't feel like a true sequel, it felt more like DLC level pack in retrospect. I think the way SMB2 (USA) was introduced to the public did Nintendo and Mario as a whole a huge favor and I just don't think the original Japanese released would have captured the same audience

about the bobblehead small versions. When they made the conversion from DDP to SMB2, they made shrinking to make it more Mario like, but the new half sized versions would have been able to access areas they were not supposed to go, that's why they gave them big heads.

I like 2 more than the original. It introduced a ton and the different play styles were neat.

This is my second favorite of the classic Mario games with first being World. Peach is always my defacto go to, where yeah the hovering is super helpful, but I also think she captializes the best of the game's momentum, she has really good momentum on her jumps which works so well for this game, in many ways it kinda feels built around her. I also don't find her weaknesses (namely slow pickup) to be that notable, when you can just play around it. And the speed difference is only when carrying an item, so it's situational unless you're doing a speedrun, by which Toad is the best, so I just alternate between Peach and Toad. Peach, Toad and Luigi are all good in their own ways, whereas Mario just kinda sucks. lol He's just Peach without float and no notable distinction. He has the same issue Sonic does in Sonic Advance 1 for instance, where Sonic was the worst character in that.

Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, being that it doesn't have any Mario characters, it doesn't have the B button dash! Making it even HARDER than Super Mario Bros. 2/USA! I'd also say that your friend/relative was ACTUALLY correct, in that in certain ways it could be perceived like he said… but Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic you forgot to mention, you have to beat it with each character to get the final/true ending! You can't erase the save in it neither! There's a video on KZfaq telling you how to erase the save data, which requires you to be on Stage 3-1 or any other stage with a pit!😉😉

15:18 actually mario already debut with his modern overalls in the arcade game Mario Bros (well despite the hat being the wrong color in the arcade version but correct in the nes)... thecnically speaking this the second time seeing blue overalls Mario

Also it's funny that a doki doki panic characther that changed into a mario characther predicted a episode of Smw cartoon/a mario meme Which is the characther mama from doki doki panic which it changed to Luigi in mario Bros 2 and what episode of Smw cartoon they predicted: MAMA LUIGI

Pro Tip for Toad, he's faster while holding an enemy, in addition to just being a bit faster normally.

Toad is the fastest, which is why he is the best for most levels with a few exceptions where the hover or high jump can let you skip sections.
