While examining the influence of the fast food industry, Morgan Spurlock personally explores the consequences on his health of a diet of solely McDonald's food for one month.

Your supersize stuff is almost mythical over here in the UK. The fact you can get a drink that big is just magical. Newspapers would lose their shit if a company, especially McDonalds, did that here. And even if they did, it'd be marketed as a family or sharing drink with multiple straws.
@sparky0900 Жыл бұрын
this documentary was made in 2004, so while fast food places don't do supersizes anymore, even the large sizes are pretty damn big. america is fucked at this point tbh
@HRHooChicken Жыл бұрын
@@sparky0900 I went to Florida last year and it was the soft drinks which made me think you need some sort of j intervention. It’s so hot there so you drink a lot, and one personal sized Sprite had like 60% of your daily sugar? It’s madness. Here we have a sugar tax so diet and zero drinks are way way more popular. @@HRHooChicken exactly. honestly im rly not too educated on the reason WHY this is but if i had to take a hot guess i'd say its bc it's a lot cheaper to pollute the food and drink industry here with the cheapest and most unhealthy shit possible bc of how easy it is to produce. really wish america wasnt like this and it sucks for the people who WANT something better and know they need it but cant afford the healthier options :(

Then I started to think I bet US have a whole litre as a super size drink but to hear you drink 2 litres of coke in one sitting with your meal is unfathomable. I'm from UK and 500ml is the limit on drinks and I don't think our fries are any bigger than the 2nd box she shows which is medium. Then you have large which is like woah wtf, then you have supersize which is just crazy. I cannot imagine average Americans drink 2 litres and a box of fries so large aswell as a burger in 1 sitting that's at least 2500 calories

His dad and uncle founded Baskin Robins: "Burt Baskin, my dad's partner and brother-in-law, co-founder of the company, died of a heart attack. I think he was 51. Now, my uncle weighed about 240 pounds, heavyset fellow. And when he died, as a young man, I asked my dad, "Do you think there could be a connection between his fatal heart attack and the amount of ice cream he would eat?" My father said, "No, his ticker just got tired and stopped working." By this time, he had sold more ice cream than any human being that had ever lived on this planet. He didn't want to think that the product was hurting anybody, that it had contributed to the death of his brother-in-law, partner, and, in many ways, best friend."
