Another chapter in my hifi adventure. How I ended up using very expensive tubes like the AudioNote 4300E 300B after using many penthode tube amps, such as Doge10, Cayins, PrimaLuna, etc. Part 1 of 2. Music by: pixabay.com/music/

That huge phase plug must have been from a "gigantic driver".. LOL! Always fun to watch your videos! BTW, love the guitar wall!

No coupling caps stands for direct coupling between active devices........in this case tubes....no coloration by any capacotor whatever as it is not there ! .....and no time smearing nor time phase shift as small as can be ! But the circuit must be vary well designed and the condition of the tubes must be up to the operation conditions & standard.............so these amplifiers are not for everyone....because they need care and skills about understanding tubes. reliabilty may be an issue ..............however when one loves , one cares.......

If a “face plug” is in the cone, i wonder what a loudspeaker butt plug … never mind.

Of all the speaker/amp combos that you’ve heard, which ones perform best at low volume levels (65 DB range).
@hificave2 жыл бұрын
Wow good question. I need to think about it. High sensitivity is a must for sure. To be honest, low level listrning at 65db range is not something I do often. But let me go back in my notes and see what I can find.

Not 845s - you want 300B (Decware?), maybe 211 if in a back-to-the-roots mood (love those, using molybdenum AN-4242E in mine), but surely GM70 (the Russian "845 on steroids" derivative/further development - hard to describe, these seem to get everything right, beauty of tone and a dynamic jump factor that's way beyond anything else out there).

Why’d you dump the Tektons? I can tell you why I dumped mine.
@hificave2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say dump. :) i explain it more in the lii audio speaker video I made just before this one.

Really enjoying the content. Your candidness and enthusiasm are sorely missing in the more established audio YT channels. I find myself losing interest as channels become increasingly diplomatic in their assessments.

KZfaq and ego. A recipe for sh*t. Yep AN valves @$1k a pair from a factory in China! That AN screen printing must be very audiophile.
@hificave Жыл бұрын
And I cant even smash them with a hammer. The tube just bounces away. Crazy. Must be an ego thing.
