Easiest cars to steal are ones without immoblizers. Range Rovers are not anywhere near the easiest to steal. They are just _POPULAR_ to steal because they are very valuable, high-demand to shady people (like cartels who don't care how it was obtained, and who may need it's ruggedness and/or off-road capabilities), and are a good "bang for buck" when it comes to value vs effort put in.

Its been known in the industry for years , jags mercs bmw can be cloned in 2nds and be in europe by the next day. When i was a insurance broker - i had 2 range rovers and bmw m3s within 5 minutes it had been stripped internally. The way to protect yourself is to have your key in a led box away from the house or please just get a non factory alarm and tracker - Factory isn't safe anymore due to their own downfall - rumour was a Head mechanic who worked for a high end dealer authorised by every maker took the codes due to non payment and sold them - They keep changing the software do dealers but eventually it catches up

New anti theft software update has resoved this shortcoming. Its not possible to do a relay theft on these anymore

They get stolen because it seems most people are too stupid to get a £500 immobiliser put onto the car, so without the code for the immobiliser no one can start the car even if they gain access through keyless go or get a key cloned they still cannot take the car because they need the code. If all cars had them fitted as standard from factory they’d be no car theft unless they physically pick the car up and put it on a trailer.

If you’re near the key you can open and start the car with a dummy key fob and copy the key code

My clio 182 I had for 14 years put 128k on it. It was written off in January 23 I got the same money back I paid for it all those years ago!

The most stolen car will be the one that's easy to flip on the black market for cash. ie: the one that the drug dealers and mobster think is "cool" and that is a range rover. The car thieves are so sophisticated these days they can steal anything easily. It's just choosing which one will sell.

Why would anyone pay lots of money for a car and not have an immobiliser put on it, unless they have a trailer and steal the car that way there is no way you’ll steal a car with ghost fitted.

Just need a Ghost fitted, individual code etc Best £500 you can spend. Sad that we have to spend it in the first place but it's state of Britain currently

Ghosts and other CAN bus immobilisers can be easily disabled from a vehicle. Yes it will take maybe 1-2 mins of extra time for the thieves, but because they're so common, thieves are learning to thwart it.

Why drive a Range Rover around London...... It's not good they are being atolen but it has had a positive effect in that fewer people will drive pointless huge vehicles around a congested city. Maybe they will buy something more suitable to replace them.

Not sure I believe some of the stories this guy’s coming out with. He said his pals Range Rover was stolen from outside the RAC club on Pall Mall. I was a member there for a number of years. It just doesn’t sound quite right…
