Was a terrible weekend for a few teams that had to prequalify to make the race and some top teams missed the cut. JFR #46 Commodore qualified 3rd and after a well deserving lonely 3rd place in race 1 the #46 JFR Commodore was going ok in third in race 2.. The replay showed Ingall just drive by me on the front straight? then I pretty much disappear, well the cause was an airbox fire.. our new in house engine program gave us some much needed pace and we were on the hard cut at turn one which caused an over fuel and the small fire but still cruised home in 6th. Then race 3 we had it sorted made a good start and then HRT's Jason Bright center punched me into turn 2 ... It smashed the fuel cell internal pumps and we struggled with fuel surge and on the final lap it died we were out. Spent most of our budget to get the #46 on the pace and get some good people behind us and to just be there. Sitting on the grass hill at turn 2 watching what should of been our weekend made my mind up that I would have to make some hard sacrifices to keep going and finish the season.. there never was a 2003 for JF.. JFR shifted to the Gold Coast and ran the young lions program with our cars for HRT till 2004 with some new young dudes who I must say have gone on to profile teams and are going ok. Saw this pop up on KZfaq today and thought some people need to know what happened. Cheers JF.
