I used to have a brother in my ward whose grandfather was in Marin Harris’ ward in cache valley. He tells a story from his grandfather who was a priest when Martin Harris died. Shortly before his death, Martin called the young men to his home and bore his first hand testimony of the BOM and the plates.

Jacob Isbells question "framing the question" is a form of logical fallacy called "poisoning the well." Some defense lawyers use it in cross-examination to force an answer they want from a witness. Politicians and journalists use it A LOT! Especially antagonistic journalists questioning politicians...😂😅😂😅😂.

I have always felt that polygamy was too protect women and children in the covenant. The things that the pioneers/saints went through was a spiritual war that would have been so terrible. I'm sure that the atrocities that are told in foxe's Book of Martyrs probably were still known and taught during that time. These are things that should be known so that people know what they are fighting for and against.

Compare polygamy accepted in a church with membership in 1862 of about 60,000 with approaching Civil War where as many as 850,000 mostly men of total population of 31,000,000 would be dead freeing the 4,000,000 slaves?

So Cardon put this in your pipe and smoke it. After reading in the Miracle of Forgiveness about Cain when I was about 28 or so I realized that it was Cain whom I had seen looking in my window at me when I was about 8 years old. My mother and one of my sisters were living in Provo at the time and I told them about it all. Hugh Nibley was their gospel doctrine teacher at the time. So not long after that they ran into Hugh in some park somewhere and they asked him about Cain, he told them that he had seen him once when he was about twelve years old and that he had never told anyone about it until now. My Mom and sister then relayed the message to me and I looked for his number and found it a few days later. I was living in the Bay Area San Fran at the time so I called him up cold lol and asked him about Cain and he immediately responded that there were much better things we could talk about. So I thanked him for the brief words we had and never bothered him again. It really caught me by surprise at the time he did not want to talk about it but it makes perfect sense now. This would have all occurred in 1988-89. Another story for another time but it wasn't too long after thought I had a vision and have personally seen our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, he lives and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is his church upon the earth.

The Book of Mormon and it's pure and accurate translation by Joseph Smith, is the most compelling proof of him being a prophet. His introduction of the temple covenants.

The daguerrotype of Joseph Smith is unnerving to me. I get vibes of my Dutch grandfather (opa) whom I never met. He feels really familiar to me, but I'm not used to that image being associated with Joseph Smith Jr.

Even the reality of the fact that advanced scholars could not come up with an accurate translation project would take years to accomplish. It would take a team of many scholars to even attempt it. None could do it in 3 months.

No. My 3rd Great grandfather lived in Nauvoo and knew Joseph. He was also called to practice polygamy and eventually had 4 wifes. Back then, it was a calling that could come through your Priesthood leaders. Two of his wifes were sisters, which must have been even more challenging.

@adamwineera Yes, there is absolute evidence that Hyrum spoke against it as well as Joseph. Look up the Kirtland temple case and there you'll find why other women were "sealed" to Joseph. Brigham Young is the one who created this doctrine of prostitution being holy as long as you're married to them🤦‍♀️. See... God forgot to create more men so that's just how it goes. That's why men take a front row seat and women are tossed in as holy sx slaves in the name of the almighty 🤨. Men sure do get upset when you take away their spiritual wives though. They're eternal se-x. It's embarrassing for men and they should have more dignity and honor than that kind of behavior

Shortly after being criminally charged for polygamy, Joseph always with caveats, denied being able to "find" other wives. Typical caveats were only Joseph could approve of such marriages, only Joseph's keys, or god's will delivered through Joseph could create polygamous marriages. Thus any other plural marriages were phony.

On the show Doctrine and Covenants Central, there is a show that talks about the Latter days and the Temples being built in Missouri. One of the men stated that there is another Prophesy in D&C that states that is no longer necessary. I don't remember where it is in the D & C. It was in the show "Where will the city of Zion be built according to the Latter days Saints?"

The surviving (book of breathings) papyrus does not seem to match Joseph's description of the papyrus from which he translated the book of Abraham. That said, the book of breathings seems a lot like a corrupted imitation of the temple endowment.

Latin authors most commonly refer to the forbidden fruit as a pomum, a Latin word meaning "fruit" or "tree fruit." Not surprisingly, Old French, which descends from Latin, has the word "pom" (modern French "pomme"), which originally meant "fruit" as well, and was used in the earliest Old French translations of Genesis. Pomegranates have 12 Chambers with many seeds. Joseph Smith was sealed to 12 women. We now know most if not all of them were pregnant and not from Joseph Smith. Edgar Cayce taught that pregnant Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, was selected from 12 virgin Essene initiates at the age of 16 and was betrothed to Joseph, age 35. Question: Who was Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, sealed to? Judge ye....

Joseph Smith’s MULTIPLE VERSIONS of his CLAIMED “First Vision” in particular The 1832 First Version, are nothing new. Except the claim that there was no “true” Church of Christ on the Earth (a claim many founders of OTHER Christian sects made, would later make.)

@@krismurphy7711 , multiple versions of the first vision account shouldn’t be problematic-there are multiple versions of biblical texts, accounts in the OT & NT that do not match, even contradict. The problem is only that LDS scholars and some leaders have made efforts to conceal, hide, censor, and lie about textual variations (until recently), and, as a result, damage not only their own credibility, but also the authenticity of the Restored Church. It’s an issue of deceitful LDS middle-managers and LDS apologists-a kind of evidence of their own faithlessness, and fear of truth. They are responsible for the harm and damage to the Church.

4:45 A real Prophet would know, or be told by God, that the papyri WAS NOT written by the hand of Abraham. Joseph Smith made a false claim. A real Prophet would know his “translation” was almost 100% WRONG. A real Prophet would know that his “Egyptian Alphabet and Grammar” book was almost 100% WRONG. A real Prophet would not have made such errors and would have known about his errors, corrected them, or not made such claims.
