Here's another idea: Saute fresh calves liver in butter (liver is terrible if it's overcooked, should still be uncooked in the middle). Put the pieces from the pan to the plates then put Annie's organic ketchup in the pan and warm it till bubbling a bit. Scoop the buttery ketchup out and put it on the liver. This is very good!

My doctor found I was a bit low in iron and B12. I always watch what I eat. I was perplexed. Found out that coffee after a meal will kick out iron and B12. But, not the case with liver. My B12 and iron went to normal in a relatively short period of time after making eating liver a part of my routine. I have it with vegetables or onions... and with real fermented vegetables on the side. I mark it on my calendar.. every fourth day is liver day. When not eating liver? To protect what iron and B12 may be in my meal, just wait an hour after eating before coffee.

I try to have it once a week but maybe I actually get it every other week. I'm not sure what changed but I didn't have to train myself to learn to like it. My taste for it comes and goes. I think it relates to calcium / vitamin D status. If your body is low in calcium (usually caused by low vitamin D), then taking in large amounts of vitamin A will exacerbate the problem and liver will taste bad. Just my theory. I also agree that proper cooking and liver quality are important too. You can also try chopping raw liver into small pieces and swallowing them with a drink.

Dr. Berry, This question is unrelated to this video but I wanted to message you on your most recent one. I have started following you over the past few weeks. I will be 62 on July 24th 2021. I have been following a low carb lifestyle for the past couple of years. I had 2 knee replacement surgeries this year. One January 4th the other April 5th. As you can imagine I was not as active as much this year because of my recovery. Also I am a rural mail carrier and sit driving the majority of my day. At my heaviest I was 270 lbs then got down as low as 207 before my surgeries. Last I weighed a couple of weeks ago I was 228. I still have some swelling from my surgeries but know I have gained. I am enjoying all the information I am getting from your videos. I currently take several supplements...fish oil, D3, calcium plus minerals, a multivitamin, B12. I was listening to your video from a couple of years ago on supplements today and wonder if you could give me an idea of a good quality brand for the following that you mentioned... Magnesium Glycinate, CO Q10, K2 -MK4, Zinc. And you also mentioned a B complex/B12 so I would like a little clarification on the B complex. You have mentioned in some videos that taking a calcium supplement was a waste of money so I'm wondering if I should stop that. Is Amazon a good option to purchase the supplements you talked about? Thank you in advance.

I've always, even as a kid, enjoyed beef liver. My favorite is pan fried with onions (in olive oil and ghee) along with a good portion of steamed brussels sprouts or asparagus as a side. This has become my regular Monday night fare; I am OMAD and ketovore, and I consume roughly one pound of liver at a sitting. I buy grass fed/finished at a local farm store and like it seared rare.

I LOVE liver, (grew up on it), breaded like chicken nuggets, cooked in olive oil. It is the only food we’re I consciously feel like it’s giving me superpowers throughout my whole body.
