Narrow Gauge South Exhibition organised by the Wessex Narrow Gauge Modellers. Final part of my video record of my first visit to this interesting exhibition.
Layouts featured in Part 3 are:
00:51 Hillbrow - 009 (4mm scale on 9mm gauge) - Steve Fackrell. A first attempt at a 009 narrow gauge layout.
02:47 Vale Quarry Preservation Society - 009 (4mm scale on 9mm gauge) - John Bruce. Depicts a preservation society that exists to preserve, display and operate narrow gauge railway equipment associated with mining and quarrying.
05:46 The Brickworks - 0-14 (7mm scale on 14mm gauge) - Arthur Budd.
08:15 Aldbourne - 009 (4mm scale on 9mm gauge) - Adrian Ponting. An English narrow gauge railway in the early 20th century.
11:25 St Mary's - 016.5 (7mm scale on 16.5mm gauge) - Julian Evison. A 'what might have been' layout ased on the Welshpool and Llanfair railway.
13:25 Albion Estates - 1/12th scale on 32mm gauge - Bill Bateson. Based on early 20th century Lincolnshire narrow gauge farm railway.
15:03 Bottle Kiln Lane - 009 (4mm scale on 9mm gauge) - John Thorne. Depicts an English 1930s narrow gauge railway serving a small canal and pottery.
15:39 Dolfriog - multi-level, multi gauge and scale.
16:39 There is Not Mushroom Left (plus others) - 009 (4mm scale on 9mm gauge) - Derek Johnson. A selection of micro layouts.
17:37 Slindon Vale - 016.5 (7mm scale on 16.5mm gauge) - Chris Davies. A fictional preserved narrow gauge railway based in Sussex.

Keith, a huge thumbs up for putting time markers in the description of each layout. Very few other people seem to do this. Lucky to get a rundown on what was videoed let alone this level detail!

Thanks. I just found it difficult to pick a favourite; there were so many excellent and interesting layouts.

its interesting, whin i was a child and had my model railway , the socalled experts said get rid of your opperating accesories as they look childish and toy like . now i see many model railroads(espicially micros ) with opperating accesories and they look great as do the layouts . they add visual appeal and operating variety.

Thanks for your comments, Alan. As you say, many layouts now include operating accessories, which I like to video if I see them, as I think they make they layout different.

If this is supposed to be about Narrow gauge then please dispense with the intro of Full size mainline traffic its an abomination!! Please Disconnect the microphone, much to much distracting conversation and coughing and spluttering!

My KZfaq channel includes videos of full scale, miniature and model trains, not just narrow gauge. Thus I think that it is reasonable to give an overview of what can be viewed. As for the sound, that is a personal opinion. I prefer to hear the exhibition sounds, especially now that many layouts include engine and other related sounds, rather that background music that has nothing to do with what is being shown. If you don't want the sound, there is always the mute button.
