Thank you for providing feedback on our printer and I'm sorry for your poor printing experience. We have always taken the quality of our products very seriously. And our team has been working hard on this as well. As we are developing and producing our own products for the first time, we have had a lot of difficulties in this process. We do have shortcomings, but we have made some improvements. We will always provide a good after-sales service so that everyone's printing job can run smoothly. Thank you!

Thanks again for sending over the unit for use on the channel! If this printer was just a little more feature rich and price competitive it'd get a recommendation from me, otherwise I think the SV06 is better suited to a different crowd. For us tabletop gamers and cosplayers at least, there are better options right now for PLA focused printing.

I will say FDM machines are more finicky, BUT in my experience buying the Sovol SV06, talking to other buyers, and buying another printer years back, your experience isn't the typical one. If you get an FDM machine, contact the seller immediately if there are any problems that can't be fixed with bed leveling or slicer changes. They'll walk you through a fix and likely send you replacement parts for free. If I were in your shoes, I'd have used an acupuncture needle first thing to try to unclog the hotend, and after that straight to the phone.

The part at 10:50 has mirrored my exact thoughts going from resin to FDM printing. I bought an anycubic Kobra and just constant issue after issue after issue with almost 0 documentation on the printer itself. Literally nothing I did was helping and I eventually just swapped out to a Creality Ender 3 Max. Had a whole host of issues with it too and all the info that was out there was both voluminous and seemingly contradictory. After about a week of constant tinkering and running hundreds of test squares i finally got it fixed. Meanwhile my Photon Mono and Mono X have worked straight out of the box with literally 0 issues ever and I've been using them almost daily for the last 2 years.

New to printing myself and only had my SV06+ for 2 weeks and now know how lucky I was to have a friend with 7+ years printing experience spend 6 hours on discord screen share between phone and my PC to get me up and running. He give me a simplify3d account and been running direct from PC since leveling. Never used the included software. NO way I'd have it doing what it is without him.

Congratulations, you're a real KZfaqr now with the Raid Shadow Legends sponsorship, lol When people say that 3d printing is a hobby in itself it is mostly true for FDM as the vid shows it because with a resin printer I never had to open it up and change some parts . If you enable bool tools in blender, then you can apply boolean modifiers with shortkeys, and I've found that that supercedes blenders restrictions and just goes for it. I've made a load of multipart kits this way. Also, absolutely love your content dude, normally other aussies annoy me in media, but you have the perfect "voice over" voice, and it helps that you really know your stuff. You've really helped my find my stride in 3D printing, and I don't think I would have the confidence or know how to have printed all I have with my old Photon Mono without your help. Keep it coming!

I am glad you stuck it out with the FDM printers. All the issues when starting up really broke the joy for me. My FDM printer sat idle for about 2 years before I tried to get it going again. All my pain came from a small crack in the extruder which lead to an under extruding issue.
@corty1980
@corty1980 Жыл бұрын
I have been FDM 3D printing since mid 2016 and never experienced as many issues that you seem to have in terms of hardware. The biggest issue I had was getting things to stick when I started, though my first printer had a glass bed which isn't good for adhesion. I replaced my 2 x 5 year old printers about 6 months ago with Any Cubic Vypers. The first Vyper performed great so I decided to get a second, which unfortunatly had issues, though working with the supplier was able to work out if was a faulty cable, replaced that and all has been good. I would say that from time to time you do get dud 3d printers, it's the same with other consumer items. Overall I have been happy with the Vypers and the only issues I have from time to time is bed adhesion, which can be fixed by cleaning the surface, which is caused by touching the surface of the build plate. I also recommend switching to a 0.6 nozzle, I don't often use the stock 0.4 nozzle anymore.

Interesting! I didn't attribute that issue to the filament run-out sensor, I just assumed the spool was poorly wound. I threw on a second spool of the same filament and pulled through maybe a third of it and didn't encounter the same problem (there's a brief shot of that during this video).

That is definitely not most FDM experiences. I think building the printer really helps know how things work, as I did with my Prusa. But I've never seem this bad of issues. I feel your pain with the printer trouble. when i got my fdm printer i ended up finding the company doesn't really tighten things well during assemble. My entire heat block was covered in filiment that squeezed through the threading around the tube in the block and around the nozzle. It was so bad I had to replace the entire hot end. Advice to all when you get a new fdm printer, dismantle and reassemble the hot end yourself before ever printing anything and make sure everything is tight.

I purchased an FDM printer a year or so ago... Never did get it to print anything, not even the intro figure for calibration. Something to do with the feed gears or something? It was disappointing, and I really wish I could finally get it to work. So many cool things to print, and no working machine.

Iv used monocure 3D rapid and it was not good for me, calibrated with the cones and printed pre supported loot studio files. Prints would detach from supports, bases would come out warped. Not worth it to me so I’m super keen to see how it works for you. Love the channel hopefully you make it to full time and pump out the content. More videos more watch time.

Interesting! Yeah I'm keen to see how all these different resins stack up. Also thank you! I absolutely love making these videos and being able to do it full time would definitely bump that release cadence way up!

Unfortunately this is all too common with consumer fdm 3D printers. My Anycubic Vyper has been sitting idle for the last 75 days wait for replacement parts from Anycubic because, they don't have stock. I think I'll give resin 3D printing a go.

I bet this design could be modified to work, with an actual belt mechanism so the teeth spin like a proper chainsword

Dude, the issues you talk about I swear came from my own mouth. I've been using Blender to design a "nice quality" drawer system that is modular and what not. Think,...if furniture and Legos, had a baby. Personally, my issues have been, designing connector parts that don't snag or catch on moving parts. I'm getting there though.

Blender is a powerful but temperamental beast! Honestly for your project though If say something like Fusion 360 would be better.

You could print an extra long handle for the "short tactical chainswords" and have a chainspear or a chain-nagamaki (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagamaki ).

Super simple! Thin equal parts ivory black and burnt umber oil paint with turps or odourless mineral spirits til it's about the same consistency as milk.
