Edward Nygma While I completely agree, knowing that James Spader is the voice of Ultron gives me hope. His incredible acting allows me to forgive the mediocre plots, sub-par acting of the rest of the cast, and and the horribly noticeable plot holes of the show Blacklist. I truly hope the movie's story arc, climax, and denouement doesn't disappoint!

My favorite part about Ultron has nothing to do with his kill-all-humans directive or his unkillable program. It's his relationship to Pym that makes him worth so much to me. He considers Pym as a father. A much despised father. A psychopathic robot with daddy issues-that alone makes him interesting. But then he goes and tries to build a son. Two sons! Who both turn on him and become superheroes, joining their grandfather as Avengers. He goes and creates two wives as well. Poor robot can't get a break. He even uses his "mother" Janet VanDine's brain to pattern a wife-bot (Major daddy issues!) and she ends up joining the Avengers. Just stick Ultron in a room and force him to build superheroes already!

***** My huge fear about them casting James Spader as Ultron was that I was just going to think of Raymond Reddington from The Blacklist every time he's on the screen (which is not a reflection of James's acting abilities, but of just the fact that I'm a huge fan of that show. Spader is a brilliant actor.) However, that didn't happen once. In fact, for most of the movie, I completely forgot that Spader was even playing Ultron. All I saw was Ultron.

Ultron is my favourite Avengers villain. I hope comes back in the MCU soon. After seeing the glowing red eyes on that Ultron head in Spider-Man Homecoming, I got a feeling he's still out there.

Ultron: An arch-villain so un-killable, and so prone to upgrading (basically Marvel's answer to DC's Brainiac), that it would give even Galactus a run for his money.

^You mean being deactivated? Yes, I've read the Secret Wars. Ultron will just keep on upgrading 'til he can match Galactus, or even become better. He's been "destroyed" and misplaced so many times, he's practically immortal & Marvel's answer to Brainiac. If he's "destroyed", he'll still survive and improve his technology. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ultron eventually reaches the point of being the machine-equivalent of Galactus.

^That's debatable, considering Ultron has survived defeat at every turn (including being "destroyed" by Galactus in the Secret Wars story) He'll just upgrade until he can match Galactus. :3

+killaman227 age of ultron wasn't even an age. more like a week. he just wasn't menacing, a good role though and spaders fill worked perfectly. it was the scripting that made it just seem to fast worked. age of ultron itself sounds like it would span multiple movies

Walrusesruleyou adamantium is not really indestructible. it can be broken by vibrinium. the stuff that caps shield is made of. because adamant is acutaly an alloy to mimic vibrinium.. but there is also another metal stronger then adam.. uru. the stuff thors hammer is made from. :P

For the Avengers 2, I expect a brawl between Ultron and the Hulk. Gamma Radiation, generated through emotions, that amplify tissue and dna, makes the Hulk that much tougher and stronger. I'm just hoping the actor who plays Bruce Banner is the same. Getting tired of these actor choices being changed.

Marvel released an Image in 2013 showing the hulk fighting what looked like Iron Man is his hulkbuster armor, but when James Spader said he would be playing an 8 foot robot... I kinda think its going to be Ultron, and not Stark.

Chris Mattson Tbh I was hoping it was Thanos. He's the only villain that's single handedly destroyed almost haf of Marvel's universe, yea it be hard to make in a movie plot, but it be pretty cool to see. But Ultron has a story for them to build on, so it's going to be a good movie no matter what

Davin Morgan I actuqlly don't like Thanos. I'm mainly DC, but their live action movies aren't as good as Marvel's. Same with Apokolips, though I do like Onslaught. Personally, I feel Antimonitor and Darksied are way cooler (though not Darksied's original outfit) anyway, Ultron has always been interesting to me, though I've never read any issues with him

I see your point, but I grew up with both DC and Marvel and can say I have my favourites. But I have to give Ultron the upper hand, his stories were always interesting, even from his origins as Ultron 1, were Thanos was just a "god" in the universe with enough power to fight anyone. But in the movie I would like to see Thanos, but the Ultron story would be more in depth, and can be played off of a lot more

I think DC is spending a lot of time on the plot. While trying to fit action within the movie... I always say quality over quantity. The dark knight and Man of steel were superb.

ASmrtOtaku Out of what? I mean, when you get right down to it he will be using some amounts of electronics in it regardless. Sure, he may use some sort of non-metal conductor to build himself a new copy. However, metal is a really good conductor. Give magneto a paper clip. So long as Ultron has an entry point somewhere. Considering the fact that Ultron is super intelligent he must have a really powerful processor. A processor needs cooling. Cooling needs a ventilation system. Ventilation system means entry point. Entry point means access to electronics. Through the magic of conductivity, paperclip shorts out Ultron causing all sorts of havoc in his internal systems. Science.

Won't work. Adamantium is magnetic, but Ultron isn't. Ultron has ways of dealing with Magneto, such as releasing his own electromagnetic aura. Meaning, Magneto can't do shit to him.

+hazza3 Actually it's not. Adamantium ALLOY (which is what pretty much everything EXCEPT Ultron containing adamantium is) is magnetic because it's a mixture containing steel. Pure Adamantium is non-ferrous.

lol yeah that is why i like the animated series version of his origin. created by Pym to help rehabilitate prisoners and maintain law and order but eventually needed to help stop an invasion by Kang the Conqueror so he had to teach all his Ultron robots the concept of violence. With violence embedded into his AI he decided that killing humanity is the only way to achieve his original programming of maintaining law and order.

Allistar123 Disney is partly funding the new Marvel series. Also they seem to skip minor details or rewrite stories in their own image. So far they have done a reasonably fair job with this story.

Movie Ultron was a bit underwhelming in my opinion. For spoiler reasons I won't say why but I expected Ultron to be a lot more powerful than he actually was in the movie.

Bartrollomeo It was a LIVE-ACTION adaptation of the character. An alien artificial intelligence creating robotic bodies made of earth metal can't be as powerful as a god in a live-action film. But I personally LOVED Ultron in Avengers 2. And they did make him seem almost unstoppable. If it wasn't for the help of Vision, they would've NEVER beaten Ultron.

It's been a long time since I've read comics and watched the cartoons but if I remember correctly, the comics Ultron could knock out even the Hulk. In the cartoons, Vision only barely defeated him after Ultron defeated everyone else. But in the movie, I was pretty surprised that Capt stalled Ultron for so long. It was pretty weird since Loki easily brought Capt to his knees when Ultron should be much stronger than Loki. I know Ultron is not in his perfect form but he struggled against Capt for far too long.

ULTRON is definately one of my fav villains if he "teamed" (but secretly was just using them as tools to then kill when purpose served) magneto, Dr.Doom, Graviton, Loki, red skull, kang and the leader the dream team of avengers would yeah they would be so f***** especially with majority of them having their own f ing army or super powered henchmen. not even hulk probably could take on the combined forces of kangs army hydra the latverian army and any army loki has to use and the leader has abomination working for him so yeah. it would take the combined efforts of the avengers, the defenders, the x-men, the guardians of the galaxy, shield, sword, the iron legion and the reserve members of each team to win probs

I like the idea of stark being the creator and not ant man. It fits with what has happened in the iron man films. From the first film he has struggled with the morals of his weapons and it's coming back to bite him in the worst way with Ultron.

Ultron is the most dangerous thing in existence in the Marvel universe. no matter how many times you destory him, he'll always be back, and even if he is completely erased, he always has a failsafe that can bring him back, but better. even Galactos isn't that prepared to be killed. it's like me. even if i get shot, whoever shot me is going to find one metric ton of C4 in their living room, and instantly regret their entire plan of killing me. and then i'll get out of the hospital with major brain damage, but no serious or lethal wounds.

That is why you don't kill him. Just program a heart virus for him. I know its comic book lore and all of that but still. It would need to be a virus because I doubt he would take the program willingly. It also would need a fail safe so that he can never pull him self away from said virus. Of course with the way comic book lore gos. I could see the virus end up being some kind of female AI virus. That in some way she gets corrupted by him and they end up working together for the same goal, but for different reasons.

Gothic Shadow the only problem with that is that they tried that, and it only made things worse. Ultron got mad, and decided to make examples of people. they did it multiple times, but for some reason he just decodes the virus and is back online in two or three seconds. he's a pain to kill.

Eric Booker That is why I talk about a fail safe. See the virus has to be smart enough so he can't just crack it. Not just him but make it smart enough where it can't be cracked at all. Also why I call it heart is because it would give him more positive emotions not negative emotions.

Eric Booker Yeah I know like I said its still comic book logic. I do know that because of how comic books are. The fail safe would end up being some female AI. That the fail safe ends up being love with him. He brakes the fail safe in a way so that he convinces her that it is better for mankind for her to help him destroy it or something of that affect. So because of comic book logic you would end up with two evils that can never die instead of one.

Marvel said that by avengers 3, the roster will have almost completely changed so that means people are going to die in avengers: age of ultron. It can't be captain America or iron man, hawkeye and black widow haven't had standalone movies yet and scarlet witch and QuickSilver are new so that leaves Thor and hulk.

I don't think Marvel will kill off Thor and Hulk. They will probally leave the team and go their separate ways. If that happens the Avengers will just get other superheroes to replace them.
