That image of the scream of Superman shattering every window in the city sounds amazing. Sometimes I wish that a bunch of these cancelled DC projects got made, for better or for worse, they all sound like each writer and director had unique visions.

As much of a meme as John Peters is, I can’t helped but be charmed into rooting for the guy when it’s so obvious he cares about the projects he works on. I don’t for a second believe he’s only in it for the profit. Even if his impulses are very quick and loosely reasoned, I don’t feel like I can detest the guy for how he much he respects the properties he works on. He probably thinks his ideas are more genius than they are, but I do truly believe he thinks he’s servicing the project above all else.

Had WB gone through with these they would have beat Marvels MCU.... but WB is known more for their bad descions than they are for good movies.

If it doesn’t have a giant spider, Peters is a hard NO....

Colin Farrell is now the Penguin years after not getting the chance to play Batman To be honest, an Irish Batman sounds a bit weird, but I think Farrell will do a great job as The Penguin, I mean he looks unrecognisable and the Penguin has been adapted as a British person so I don’t think an Irish Penguin will be a problem

Colin Farrell went from playing batman to playing the Penguin that's pretty cool 🤔🤔🤔🤔

It's interesting how when Superman fights Batman, he never really wants to hurt him. In fact, Superman usually just throws Batman around. But he never uses heat vision directly on Batman's face. He never uses freeze breath to freeze Batman or his gadgets. He never picks up a huge concrete bolder or a huge truck to smash Batman. Nope. He just throws Batman around. So their fight is never really exciting, especially since we all know that Batman will win anyway.

An Alfred A.I didn't work that well in the dark multiverse.

I find it interesting how many Superman films were planned and never made. Same with Batman. I also find it interesting that before he actually played Batman in Batman Begins, Christian Bale was in talks to play Batman in Batman vs Superman and Batman: Year One. It’s like they wanted Bale to be Batman, while also offering Josh Hartnett to be Superman in Batman vs Superman. Makes me wonder what the film could have been like if both of them agreed to play the characters and the film would have been made. Would Bale have done more Batman movies? Would Hartnett continued to play Superman in future films? Or would both had been fine doing one film having played the characters once.

I wish the DC Animated movies would do renditions of these abandoned projects

Now I really want to see 'Batman v. Superman' v. 'Superman', where it's just a bunch of WB executives going nuts in a board room.

It is interesting that, despite the overall quality of the scripts, all of these treatments understand a very crucial thing in the dynamic between Batman and Superman: They are two opposite sides of the same coin, one is a pessimistic dark vigilante while the other is a cheerful bright hero. Too bad the movie we ended up getting didn't understood that very well.

one of the things that irked me in the leaked script was how Superman was just straight up disappointed in humanity and thinks everyone are bad people just because Batman was about to kill Joker. Other than that Bruce and Clark's relationship felt natural and the contrast between the two of them was very evident

Here's how I think WB could've started a DC cinematic universe. 1 Superman movie, 1 Batman movie, 2nd Superman movie, 2nd Batman movie. Then a World's finest movie.

Hey, you should one day talk about Tim Burton’s Batman Continues. It’s really interesting, especially with the fact that Burton never wanted Two-Face or Riddler, and he instead wanted the villains to be Scarecrow and Catwoman

This version sounds like it would've been a hundred times better than the Abomination we finally got from Hack Snyder.

Unfortunately, the closest we came to this movie was the billboard in "I Am Legend".

I wish I never watched this video because HOLY HELL I WANT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE NOW. By the way, it’s very impressive how you managed to string together footage from different media in a way that perfectly matched the narration. That’s some masterfully meticulous editing.

Not even hating on Snyder, but this sounds like a better film than the Batman vs Superman we got, plot and script wise . The character motivations of everyone are more clear and direct at-least and it didn't sound like it was trying to cram in too many ideas.

Batman v Superman is one of those films where hearing about it sounds "cool" but as soon as you watch it you're doubting your own taste.

How hard is it to follow a script based on a comic series..... it's already written. And good. But no.... WB fucks everything up everytime.

I thought the Batman VS Superman storyline/script to Wolfgang Peterson's failed project was even better than what we eventually got with Dawn of Justice. I don't like the potential casting of Jude Law as the Man of Steel but can definitely see Colin Farrell playing the caped crusader Another brilliantly crafted video that was well researched & edited. Also the narration was great. This was the nail in the coffin for me finally subscribing to your channel

You know what, this trope about Superman being hard to write or and isn't cool is a very big lie. Batman is easier to write because the boundaries are pushed back so far that it is right at the line of becoming the villain and madness. That truth about Batman allows so much story telling because he can cross lines and be forced to deal with the consequences. However, he can't cross lines well defined because the other lines are simply vines a part of the larger vine and they aren't gray areas. Having Superman being a person so straight white and very sure of what is good and what is the right thing to do - there is no concepts and stories in that? You're telling me that you couldn't clearly understand that Batman is in the deep crests of darkness - he is a man in darkness - pain, loss, sacrifice, regret an more. Superman is a type of imperfect god living among near demon like beings. Humans who fight so hard against the dark. And they do so with so much imperfection. But Superman sees that women and children are humanity's strongest bet and view of humanity's light in them. And Superman knows that men like Commissioner Gordan and his wife are fighting hard to tell truth and stop evil. Any hardships Batman face, Superman faces even more. Consequently, they had the first opportunity to try to get Superman through his view of light verses darkness: can Superman be touched by evil and resist it? Can he suffer such an development of being enveloped by the evil of say- the Joker to do something so twisted that most men would mentally, emotionally crumble after realizing what they mistakenly done? Injustice had the perfect opportunity to both present that and act on seeing Superman work through such grief and pain and loss. But one thing is different than the other. What would Batman had done? What would have happened if Batman had been given a toxin to make him think Selina or better yet Dick or even Barbara or his own son Damien was Joker or Raj'al Ghul or someone who Batman wanted dead immediately? And to make sure he would react in that way, things were set up long ago to get him there - a woman he finally found love and a willingness in himself to give it all up for her. Or give Batman Superman's powers and do that! My point is I'm tired of this idea that you can't write for Superman without being just showcasing his powers. There are over 150 stories as good and as defining as Batman. All you have to do is read between the lines and you can tell the same story for Superman that you told for Batman and give even more to do it.

Kind of wish we got this version instead of the one we got in 2016... I'm a huge fan of Colin Farrell and Jude Law so would have been interesting to see them in those roles. Especially Jude as Superman which is pretty left of centre pick.

9:35 you can put the scene of Batman & Robin when Alfred is practically an AI in the Batcave. The fight between Superman and Batman can be raise when Bruce can find solace with Lois Lane and starting gradually a romantic relationship.

Is it just me or do the 'hired wife who never loved the retired hero, that's killed (or pretends to be killed) to reignite the hero's fury all for a final showdown', seem like the exact same plotline in X-men Origins Wolverine and no good story should be similar to X-men Origins Wolverine.

To make a convincing proper BvS they would have to build-up the characters first with multiple movies before that. The ones used by Frank Miller and DC comics in general were perfect, hence why it is a classic. BvS that we got was too close and only related to Man of Steel. The current The Batman for example is enough dark, to lead to a paranoid senior Bruce Wayne. We start the versus there.

It's kind of funny hearing these movies that were almost made and what we eventually did get. Abrams wrote about civil war on Krypton, which is actually what we ended up seeing in Man of Steel (except in that case Krypton still explodes). They tried to get Batman vs Superman off the ground as well as various takes on the Death of Superman...and we ended up getting those in the same film!

It amazes me at the choices lined up for Batman and Superman because most of them seemed like they would've been too young for the film's story. Farrell, Jude Law and Paul Walker make sense for a Year One scenario, not as a Batman coming out of a five year retirement. So, oddly enough, Depp sounds like the best fit out of the names publicly considered. Then when it comes to Superman, Hartnett seemed fine for a Superman origin story à la Flyby. I think Christian Bale fits better than those other names from an acting standpoint. Depp's Batman vs. Bale's Superman with Wolfgang Petersen directing? Sounds like some high class comic book cinema.

Looking back in these other movies that almost happened, makes me think Zack Snyder had to dance to WB's tune to include fighting Batman and Doomsday killing Superman.

Is it so wrong that I'd like movie where Superman and Batman are friends? It doesn't have to be cartoonishly chummy, like in the 40s and 50s, but they are Bash Brothers, in some of the better written comics, the monthlies from the 70s on up to when when everyone wanted to follow the Frank Miller template. World's Finest, in the mid 80s, and for the most part, the current run, are actually a pretty good representation of how these two guys, masters at their craft, but with differing ideologies, can be friends and work as the greatest tag team, in the game. Superman/Batman, in the early 2000s, as well. I always felt that predicting a film on "Who Will Win Between These Two Characters You Love" was a mistake. You can have the scuffle, argue, maybe even have them throw hands, briefly, but that shouldn't be the hook. I like when they draw on each other's skills and knowledge, and work together.
