The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a case involving mifepristone, a commonly used abortion pill, and the Food and Drug Administration's actions in recent years to make the medication more accessible. The high court is reviewing a federal appeals court's ruling that said the FDA's actions were unlawful.

Why does the Supreme Court keep taking cases where there are no damages? How does it make sense legislating based on hypothetical plaintiffs?

@@jeffbanken689 Go ahead, explain it. What were the damages? Please explain how the plaintiffs were wronged in such a way that they are entitled to a legal remedy which strips everybody else’s right to take mifepristone. Let’s hear it genius

I want to see if SCOTUS doesn’t want the FDA to decide which drugs should be dispensed. If the FDA can’t allow drugs to be dispensed, the Supreme Court shouldn’t make laws.

Elizabeth Prelogar is just, absolutely, awesome. Complete command of the case. Complete command of the relevant law. Never speaks in anything but complete sentences strung together as complete paragraph and thoughts. Never a pause or nonsense word. Impressive in every respect.

This is so freaking surreal. The drug is designed to cause an adverse event and the core argument is that studies show no adverse events. If that was true the drug would not be working.😂😂😂
@huffhouse2

“An adverse event is any undesirable experience associated with the use of a medical product in a patient.” The drug does what people want it to do. It works. The abortion is not an adverse event; it means the drug works safely the way it is supposed to.

@@huffhouse2 Hahaha. I am pretty sure the fetus is experiencing a pretty "adverse" freaking event. Also abortion is so much of an adverse event that the classic Hippocratic Oath includes the following promise, "I will give no sort of medicine to any pregnant woman, with a view to destroy the child."

@@huffhouse2 Sorry but the fetus is experiencing a pretty "adverse event". The event is so adverse, that the original Hippocratic Oath (5th century BC to 1964AD) had doctors make the following promise "I will give no sort of medicine to any pregnant woman, with a view to destroy the child."

The argument it's my body I'll do what I want means---> I had unprotected intimacy for the purpose of getting an abortion. You do realize that, right? Let's say your body is a car and you demand to drive recklessly, without a license and insurance. There's a car accident. No one has any responsibility to bail you out. There is no moral responsibility to do so and btw your reckless driving crashed right into some ER doctors. The most absurd questions came from jackson, kagan and sotomayor. The water bottle question was beyond inane. 1 million women are driving without insurance. Get some or don't drive. It is an expectation of the public that justices do some homework before showing up. A paragraph won't do for excommunication. It's beyond understanding. An alternative exists and a responsible alternative. See a doctor, and do an in-person follow up. There'll be some stragglers. About the same number as adverse reactions to the mail. It could just get lost in the mail.

The USA and this dumb abortion issue. I am male- had a vasectomy 30 years ago. So I am old. I am not from USA. I am of the opinion that all American males should have a vasectomy. That would solve this issue once and for all- and I wouldn’t have to listen to the mindless rants from all sides. Also the prophecy of the movie - Idiocracy could be reversed as currently it is spot on.

Calm down, Sparky, a woman taking a morning after pill isn't anywhere near an abortion, lol. If you backwoods folks spent less time chopping wood and whittling sticks and more time reading books and listening to experts maybe you'd have known that before the age of 45.
