Taking a look at Surefire’s entry-level headlamp and it’s very unique interface. You can find my written review here: precogvision.com/surefire-min...

Wish they'd offer this with a red lens. As an emergency item, it's better than a Maximus or something rechargeable as if for w/e reason the rechargeable battery is dead, you're SOL. Being able to swap out batteries for extended use is mandatory.(think in an all night trek or a Search & Rescue context) I enjoyed the review. Thanks for sharing.

It actually comes with a red lens haha. But you have to manually remove it and stick it back on, so I think it might be prone to getting lost.

They want $200.00 for this thing, Surefire really are proud of their gear! What, they've never heard of 18650 cells.

Great review, short and informative. UI is king. When you have gloves or mittens on, buttons can be very hard to press. My Petzl Activ has a great beam pattern and simple UI, but it can be hard to hit the single button.

my older SF saint cannot be turned off using the knob, it emmits very low lumen light which it should not be producing while using the knob, kinda like a moonlight mode (like 1 0r 2 lumens), normally when i use it its lowest would be 5 lumens approx. I think that is one of the reason why they added a newer switch. i filed a return at the time but shipping it from overseas i am better of buying a new one. lol. i also found a similar case online at the time so maybe mine is not an isolated case.

"Surefire falls behind the curve of sheer performance" Really? Then why am I reaching for my 1000Lumen Surefire E2D LED Defender Ultra and leaving my Xxxxx 1600Lumen flashlight on the shelf at home? Well...because the Surefire performs a heck of a lot better that's why. Cheers.

ur thoughts on malkoff tricap tailswitch ? there are 2 kinds that can fit e2e and larger surefire flashlights. thx

It reminds me of the Oveready Triad tailcap. Functionally, it’s probably the best design there is because you get 1) tailstanding, 2) easy switch actuation, and 3) anti-roll. Seems like the edges are a bit sharper on Malkoff’s but other than that it should be solid. Hope this helps!

Battery life sucks, I regret not getting a rechargeable one first.

What is really weird is your voice, weak and girlish in tone and speed.
