Best IEM reviewer IMHO (even over crinacle). The way you explain them is detailed but also concise at the same time. Hope you get more subs in the future!

Ha I look up to Crin, thanks for the kind words though :)
@kdkwan70163 жыл бұрын
I would say crinacle just have different taste on music. He prefer less mid bass and more treble. I like mid bass details (especially piano) and less peaky treble which I think is more close to this channel.
@boboiboy93503 жыл бұрын
@@kdkwan7016 I have everything below his A grade standard and much more happier than his above A list. IER Z1R and JVC FDX1 are one of the examples I simply dont understand why they are up above there. And I love my C- IEM, Cayin YB04 better than those. Maybe the preferences and music selections are too skewed from my liking which I have to be careful next time.
@yuribillones50943 жыл бұрын
@@boboiboy9350 +1 on the Cayin YB04 being an underrated gem. It's on the realm of mid-fi, but it can definitely beat the Moondrop Blessing 2 any day of the week. My two cents as own both.
@boboiboy93503 жыл бұрын
@@yuribillones5094 Haaa, great to hear YB04 could beat the king of mid-fi. Guess we are in the minority. I meant to ask around but headfi thread didnt help that much because theres lesser people who actually own them. Do you mind I’m asking what cable do you currently use with the Cayin? I like the default one but it didnt produce bass to my liking. Swapped to EA Ares II, it gets better overall and bass is a bit more pronounced and controlled but with lesser treble sparkle and a bit reduced soundstage.

Great review! I'm curious to know if an IEM this sensitive benefits at all from a balanced cable or not? I mean like plugging it in a balanced port on a dap that has 2x the power of a single ended port, not the cable itself.
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
I think that would depend more on the chip being used in the DAP itself. Most DAPs will sound better off balanced simply by virtue of more juice (and loudness) being provided :)

Can you compare andromeda 2020 vs anole vx?
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
Sure, VX is more resolving and has better BA bass (it’s more mid bass emphasized). Andro 2020 has better imaging and much smoother treble. The VX can get fatiguing because it’s all about detail, whereas I’d say the Andro 2020 sacrifices a little for a much smoother listen. Hope this helps!

Would you say that Sony IER-Z1R is a massive upgrade over the Sony IER-M7?
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
As I understand it, the IER-M7 is essentially an M9 without treble extension. It would be a very different flavor than the IER-Z1R which is more V-shaped. So hard to say if it would be an upgrade at all - just depends on your preferences.

This vs anole vx?
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
Wasn’t a big fan of VX. It’s slightly more resolving and definitely more coherent, but it’s also a bit...*lifeless* if you will. The treble on it exhibits some sort of distortion too. MEST is more engaging, lively, with better bass by comparison.
@digitalnation28763 жыл бұрын
comparison with u12t please, thank you, much love from Indonesia, ♥♥♥♥♥
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
U12t is more coherent and with better bass even though it’s BA bass. MEST is more upper-midrange forward (so better resolution there) and has holographic imaging. U12t has better positional cues. MEST is lower-treble oriented whereas U12t’s more gentle with a dip to the mid- treble and comes back up strongly for more treble air. MEST if you want a more “fun” sound, and U12t if you want more reference and laidback. Hope this helps! :)
@MannyScoot2 жыл бұрын
It needs a top cable and some power....at least 200mW and the cable I use is a KBEAR Inspiration-C (4 Core) 4N Single Crystal Copper Woven Litz Cable and the Bass kicks and the soundstage widens......Treble and detail will become defined and the holographic and imaging increases......The Mest needs power and a top quality cable ! and the cable you showed is absolute trash....

@yuribillones50943 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with a script, especially if it's his! Lol +1 on Nio comparison please? Do they complement each other?
@Precogvision3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, sure. Nio is more L-shaped at least with the M15/M20 modules. Bass is cleaner on the MEST, particularly in the mid-bass, whereas Nio has more texture and slam. The midrange of the Nio is much thicker; the MEST is more forward in the upper-mids. Nio’s treble is also lower-treble oriented, but it dips the lower-air regions before peaking at 17kHz. It’ll come off as darker to most listeners. MEST has a technical edge; it’s more holographic and has better resolution/detail retrieval. MEST is probably better on paper, but I like both of them!
