Surf Fishing Pompano, Tips and Tricks. Surf Fishing Pompano at Little Talbot Island Florida. I have been joined by a great friend Paulos who is a great big game surf fisherman. He taught me how to target pompano and redfish with Crabs. Paulos and I have fished Little Talbot Island a lot together over the last few year. Paulos is always catching pompano when others say they are not there anymore.

what type of crab are you using for the knuckles? blue? ghost? mud? or does it not really matter.

We are using blue crabs in the video but ghost in this area can but used.

I haven't fished on Little Talbot but did check out the area. Where on the beach seems to be a decent area to fish? I didn't see any action on the South end.

Do you prefer the mortician rig or pompano rig? And whats the trick to keeping your bait on with those bomb casts? Love the vids, keep it up!

Kurt Kuroski great question? Throwing bait is a skill! Long smooth casts Keep bait on! If you need bait thread to Keep bait on grab some! Crab knuckles are tough!

What day was this? Its been horrible weather past days. Any tips if I should try some jetties or inlets instead of the beach when the weather is kinda crummy? Any tips on how I can learn how to predict different fishes' behavior based on weather patterns and changes?

This was from the weekend! It wasn’t great weather then either but we found a spot. Another KZfaqr Spencer is working on putting together a video that will help everyone with this! I will post it when he puts it up!

Josh Flamm Realtor the water looks different than the Water up and down the beach! If you watch at the end of the video I am reeling in a fish and on the left side of the screen you see white foam that is getting sucked out toward the ocean. We saw the happy water and then it produced the run out! I will have video with a drone to help with this.

I buy them at the seafood markets. There is a time you can harvest I just haven’t done so. Mostly because I done know the regulations.

My question is! How were you able to get out onto the beach? That seems like a very long walk from what I can see on google maps, my fishing partner and I have gotten into pompano fishing.. We were both just wandering how you got out there. #2DudesFishing
