SURINAAMSE BOKKING. SMOKED HERRING. SRANAN BOKOE
Cut smoked herring in two, and place in hot water
After 30 minutes: remove from water, cut up in small pieces and clean
Dice 1 potato and fry
cut 1 tomato in pieces
1 cut onion, 3 cloves of garlic and 1 pepper
sugar
heat up about 3-4 tbsp. of cooking oil
add 1-2 tsp of black pepper
add onion and garlic - fry for 2-3 minutes
add the tomato and sauté for 4-5 minutes
add the smoked herring and stir
add sugar to taste and stir
add the fried potato cubes
stir well and let cook for 5-10 minutes on low heat
garnish with a yellow pepper and celery
