Billy Crystal should be given an honorary Oscar.

Mr. Crystal consistanly displays every side of his range and talent on the Oscars. To not have him as permanent host is really a shame. The audience is always in love with this little man who's infused with show business blood. It just doesn't get any better than BIlly Crystal - be honest ! Who can compete with his appeal, his charm and the reception by such an esteemed seen it all, done it all audience. It never gets old.

Mr Crystal deserves a Kennedy Center Honors, Oscar, AFI…. Every award possible for his endless contributions to the arts.

Craig Ferguson had it right in his monologue the day after the show "The people who were in that auditorium, they weren't standing up because they loved City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold...they were standing up because they knew he was a good host, and they were like "if we stand up, he might stay"

Such a brilliant tribute to a great entertainer, presented by another great entertainer.

The crowd reaction should be more than enough to show that Billy Crystal should be the host again.

Billy was such a gasp of fresh air during that disastrous show.

When I was watching this in real time, I was praying that Billy would take over and host the rest of the Oscar event.

Its funny you know, when I first watched this on TV I thought too myself, James Franco and Anne Hathaway are doing are really good job of reminding me how brilliant Billy Crystal is at hosting the Oscars.

The Oscar crowd were like: "Oh thank goodness Billy...stay please?" LMAO!! Anne and Franco were kinda a little ok... BUT Go with people with previous hosting experience PLS...hmmm maybe Jamie Foxx! He hosted a bunch of stuff, his Espy awards serenade "I want to be your tennis-ball" still cracks me up to this day...Or beg Billy Crystal to do it....

The standing ovation was proof of who really should have been hosting that night. Franco and Hathaway (and Chris Rock) will go down in history as the worst hosts ever. I give Hathaway props for actually trying, but it wasn't good enough.

This is when actors and actresses loved their craft simply because they loved Movies not like today where it is all about the fame only and the money and the lifestyle. this is when these artists were actually good or rather great and took pride in their work. they respected each other even if they did not like one another, back when us as the public would wait for this to start and it would be whole family gathering just to see if your favorite celeb would win . gone are those days, today they slapping each other on live tv instead, in protest of bald headedness omg lol

I saw that someone here said the telecast lasted 5 hours. Good Lord, am I glad I tuned in late! This segment was refreshing to see, and Billy Crystal was marvelous, but is there any worse way to remind everybody of what they're missing? Hathaway and Franco were seriously lacking as hosts, and this only highlighted it. I propose a solution: bring Crystal back for GOOD, please.
