🌞We are going to create some amazing collage papers today using newsprint paper, watercolors and acrylic inks. For the collage fodder we are using dies from Tim Holtz and some of my stamps (available at rubberdance.com). In this free video tutorial you will learn how easy you can create wonderful mixed media tags. Of course you can use the same technique to make greeting cards, art journal pages or other mixed media projects.

Hi, Susanne! It’s a pity that KZfaq doesn’t like long videos, because I surely like them. I loved those amazing backgrounds and I feel quite inspired to make my own. I’ve been making some backgrounds with acrylic paint and I loved the way you did it with watercolour on gesso. The tags are awesome! Oh, I loved to listen to your chicken! I absolutely LOVE hearing the birds in the background. So relaxing. I also love the simplicity of the strip-worked tags. I can’t wait to try this. Your water colored papers were so beautiful, I didn’t want you to tear them! 😂

I love the combinations of colors you chose from the strips of paper. I admit that I wasn’t sure at first, but everything came together so beautifully. I have several cards to make today, and you have inspired me to use tags like this to adhere to the cards’ fronts. Thank you!

It’s so fascinating!!!! You did all these abstract steps and to my eye the tags almost ended up looking like landscapes!!!! (Especially before the die cuts) 😀

I am using Tombow Glue Stick. I have no idea if it comes off when you throw it in water...

Beautiful tags! I love how you made the collage papers, can't wait to try. I loved the one you didn't care for, it reminded me of batik fabric. I thought it was lovely. Susana, do you ship your stamps to the U.S.? Or would it be too pricey? I love so many of them. I really would love to get some. This was a great video!

I never considered putting gesso on paper or using it with watercolor!!!! Can I use the same gesso I bought for acrylic? It’s a beginner gesso to use in painting crafts as well as very small canvases.

Yes, sounds good to me. A heavy thick gesso might not work as well. You need kind of a thin layer.
