I'm 68; been licensed for Fifty Years. I've owned Bikes from a 175, up to a 750 during my lifetime. Currently without a ride. I work part-time, and am looking at this as a commuter for the 11 Miles to work from my home. I plan to look at one today.

Great commuter bike. 80mpg. Reliable as a hammer. Runs on regular gas, not premium like the others.
@freeride6073 Жыл бұрын
@Magic Rooster . Actually owner's manual says premium gas . That's all I've been using. 30k kms and trouble free .
@MagicRoosterBluesBand Жыл бұрын
@@freeride6073 where are you from? In Canada it takes regular gas, 87 octane. Runs perfect. It's not a high compression motor like most sport bikes.
@freeride6073 Жыл бұрын
@@MagicRoosterBluesBand I'm in Winnipeg . 87 octane is the minimum required but it also says ( 3-2 in the owner's manual ) to use 91 or higher. It's not like it's not going to run with either of these octane anyway but for the difference on a full tank of gas between 87 or 91 is like $1.50 so ....I figure why not . 30,000 km and 3 years later running strong . Ride safe

@@freeride6073 interesting. Will have to try it and see. Ride safe! PS. I also changed the rear sprocket to 41 tooth. Much better on the highway.

This looks like a mini GSXR600. They really did well with the styling. As for power and the rest it's an entry level. First bike shouldn't be about power it should be about skilling up.

Yes, I just bought mine last month and everything you said is spot on! Nice, cool bike and great on gas. ❤

honestly 70 to 75 mph is fast enough if not let them go around. at least for me 75 mph is fast enough. God forbid you drop a bike at 70 to 75 mph its going to hurt bad if not kill you. so i think it would do great. i owned a ninja 300 it was ok on the highway faster yes but not as stable as i believe the gsx 250 will be because of its weight and i believe it even looks like a full size bike compared to the othets 300cc bikes that look 3/4 size let me know if i am wrong. always looking to further my knowledge. im considering the gsx 250r.

I installed a 41 tooth rear sprocket on mine to lower the RPM on the highways. Even better gas mileage!

I only have one REAL complaint about my 2018 GSX250R. I HATE the feel of the front brake! The stopping Power IS there, but you have to be HERCULES on the Brake Lever to GET it! Are there any fixes for this?????
@bryanbond38866 жыл бұрын
ninja 300 faster yes but on the highway i found ninja 300 a little unstable. i believe the heavier 250 to be more stable.

250cc in South East Asia is considered slightly bigger bike although it is still small. Maybe bcos we have too much scooter

It would need to be a 300 to sell in Thailand.

Thanks for watching! It's difficult to see, but the ABS is there on the front brake as well. Same side that the disc is on.

I live in Canada. Some highway are 100kmh. Most people drive 120kmh and I can barely keep up. That's only 74.5 MPH in states. Think twice before buying people. Ninja 300 although not as pretty to some people is faster with a 300cc

Shame it's not a 300 or just over and not faired. It could challenge the Yamaha MT-03 then. In other words, I wish it was something else. Silly me! I suppose I'm a Suzuki man.

Not a 300 but it is a twin which helps a lot. Weight is down low as well. If you get a chance, take one for a test ride. They're a blast.

This is a beginner bike but certainly not "the ideal beginners bike". It weighs in just a hair under 400lbs...for a 250cc? That's 125lbs more than a Honda CBR125R. A Ninja 300 or a Yamaha R3 would be more ideal!

Naa. Change the rear sprocket and top speed is 95mph. Plenty of speed for a 250.
@AdamSVT7 жыл бұрын
IMO it's a great bike compared to "small biikes" of maybe 5 or 8 years ago.. but in this world of R3s, Ninja 300s and KTM390s this is too heavy and too underpowered. Sorry Suzuki.. it's too little, too late.
@capespring7 жыл бұрын
250 is most suitable for absolute beginner. yeah it's very heavy.
@selophane437 жыл бұрын
For a noob, power isnt a requirement. Ease of riding and comfort are. Companies keep upping the power in their entry level bikes and next thing you know, a 600cc super sport is "beginner" bike.
@AdamSVT7 жыл бұрын
that's not what I am saying at all.. a 'beginner bike' is one that can safely handled by a new rider... I'm not saying give them a 60 hp ride, but at this point the market offers better and more appropriate powered alternatives than what the GSX250R offers.. granted.. if you are in Europe and used to a 125cc ride this 250 might seem wonderful. I just think that given the competition, Suzuki would have been better off with slightly more displacement and a bit more power and torque. Grain of salt provided free of charge.
@MagicRoosterBluesBand2 жыл бұрын
Got mine for $3000 and a 5 year Suzuki warranty. Changed the gearing to 41T and this bike is great for the highways. Very stable. Top speed 95mph. And 80mpg. Reliable as a hammer.

shame not a 300 or 400
@hdjxjd7 жыл бұрын
This bike was insanely heavy feeling. I sat on it in the showroom and it is a real porker. A ninja 250r is much lighter and used they are a better deal. Suzuki missed by a mile on this bike
@rayevo74687 жыл бұрын
OH FFS dude.. how a bike feels when stationary in the showroom is not an accurate reflection on how it feels when travelling at speed. There's only 10 pounds of weight diff between this and a ninja 250... If you watched the vid you'd see that they comment that the weight "feels" lower down on the bike, which makes it feel planted, but won't automatically have a bad affect handling at speed.
@selophane437 жыл бұрын
sitting on a bike in the showroom is not riding. Get the bike moving and the weight disappears.
