Driving from Yichang, Hubei to Wushan, Chongqing-China G42 Hurong Expressway
Shanghai-Chengdu G42 China National Expressway, referred to as "Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway", is an expressway in China connecting Shanghai and Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is the 10th of the 18 east-west horizontal lines of China's national expressway network.
On December 27, 2014, the section of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway from Chongqing to Yichang, Hubei Province was opened to traffic, marking the opening of the entire Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway to traffic. It only takes more than 6 hours to drive from Chongqing to Yichang.
The Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway starts from the Zhenbei Road Interchange in Putuo District, Shanghai in the east, and ends at the Shilitian Underpass Tunnel in Chenghua District, Chengdu in the west. The total length of the line is 1,982 kilometers.
The east of Yichang (direction to Wuhan and Shanghai) of the Hurong Expressway is basically dominated by plains. Today we are driving from Yichang to the west (direction to Chongqing and Chengdu). This section of the road is mainly mountainous. Due to the complex mountainous terrain, 80% of this section It consists of tunnels and bridges. This section of the road has beautiful scenery, as if driving in a green picture.
