I wish I grew up down south like this. They are so happy and alot of them dont have much. But all the food they all cook looks so good. Who cares about the newest iPhone this is what it's all about. I wish my life was more like these people. I hope I can raise my kids and teach them about deer hunting and enjoy being around family more than my life is right now. And I'm from Minnesota

This is why I love hard working, farm raised, and family people. We don’t care about material things. As long as we have the people we love, food, and something over our head; we’re completely happy. Love it.

I wish people stop bashing Southern people. I am black and I am proud of my Southern heritage. I understand where I come from. I love the Cajun/Louisiana culture & think it's a very unique culture. There are blacks that share the Cajun culture. Not all people in the South are racists. People need to look outside of the box and do some research instead of watching TV. Don't judge a group of people just because there are a few bad apples in the bunch.

We are Acadian Metis We had the same struggles and over coming them is apart of us and the culture They food might be alittle diffrent But it is got that french flare with twist I cant count the times we feed a family of ten with whats around us .. Moose Clams Fish Blueberries garden grown veggies And trade say 60 lbs of moose for 30lbs of pork and eggs But you dont keep 30lbs of pork You give 10 lbs to the family next door .. They bring you over a blueberrie pie You share the pie with another person Everyone in my small town is like that Does not matter of skin or poltics I would rather this than any other place

I know this is a little provocative, but I'm pretty sure the only Southerners people like to insult are the Southern white people. The reason why they don't insult Southern black people is because it's racist if they do so.

What most people don't understand is that having expensive things will never make you happy. Just look at how happy these people are, and all they need is family, and their environment. Technology is great, but we need to remember that nature is the only reason we made it this far in the first place.

@@Necronaut yeah same. I don't understand people who say it will never make you happy. Well it of course depends on the person. As long as their needs are fulfilled being happy or not depends on the person, and money definitely does help one to fulfill their needs and more... get some source of entertainment etc luxury items that can make them happy. If they are not into money but fan substiture fulfilling their needs and getting entertainment from other means then that works too

My dad was born in Mobile Alabama and worked as a US Merchant Mariene until his death. He brought us up in Long Island New York to be close to the New York City Union Halls for work. We eat jumbolia, oysters -remember old man Gallot?, catfish, crab, shrimp, lobscow and gritz. We are very proud of our connection with the deep south. I lived in Boloxi Mississippi for a while and my grand parents have a plot for my burial in Boloxi so I have always know where I will end up. I may move to the swamp.
