Yeah, well, um, my Chaos Knights have birds on them, yeah. Well, some of them do. Okay, they will eventually have birds on them. I am not jealous. You are. 😅 That's just insanely awesome, what you have managed to accomplish. I'm over here mixing and matching Armiger, War Dog, Daemon Engine parts for unique War Dogs. You're giving unique weapons, sounds and lights to yours. Simply amazing. Kudos (squared-- no, cubed)

I'm so surprised I've never seen or thought of using audio jacks. It's such a good solution for leds and holding the arm on
@OchoMiniatures2 жыл бұрын
I think I really got the idea from some soldering iron that swaps tips with the audio jack. And so far it seems to work!

I'm kind of surprised that you went with a 3 poll jack and a switch instead of just using a 4 poll jack and using the last poll to detect which one is plugged in automatically. It's really cool what you made either way.
@OchoMiniatures2 жыл бұрын
Well originally I was going to put an arduino in each weapon and use the 3 poles as + - and a trigger so I already had 3 pole male and female jacks and at the time I couldn’t find any 4 pole female jacks (although now I found some finding the links for this video). Also after the codex came out it was pretty clear there was only 2 weapons I wanted to swap between for most knights

Just discovered your channel thanks to an older video from One Last Blade & couldn't be more excited to subscribe! From the couple videos I've seen so far, this is a criminally underrated channel!

Thanks! I feel like the most common comet I get is “why don’t you have more subscribers!” And honestly if I knew I would have more lol! Now I just gota get these knights on one last blade!

Well, as with all things in life, there's often no correlation between quality & success (or else we wouldn't have things like Reality TV...) Either way, keep up the great work & thanks for sharing with the rest of us plebs!

Dude,when i saw your video ,I became so sad ,I also did a knight using jacks, with leds and stuff and I had so many complications,I had to remake a leg ,and when I saw how much better you did then me...... congratulations its an amazing piece

Just remember failure is an important part of learning! This knight was not my first try at electronics in a miniature and I have had my share of failure along the way

In two years time I am sure you will have put servo motors in the knee and hip joints and having it walk around.

Oddly enough walking knights is extremely difficult but don’t think I haven’t thought about it!

Wonder if you could use a USB port in the same fashion? Especially as it gives even more options - for things like baneblade which has a huge amount of turret options
@OchoMiniatures Жыл бұрын
You absolutely could the usb would also not spin and that can be a solid advantage but it’s still only 4 pins. The big problem is coding all the options and that may be better done with an arduino in each weapon although that doesn’t by itself solve the sounds. It’s really always a trade off somewhere and usb has some good use cases have some in my parts for some project some time…… or never who knows 🤷🏻♂️

How do you fit that much stuff in the base? Are they 3D printed custom deep bases?

Actually that’s the video I am currently working on!
