I just came across a few of your videos and I’ve enjoyed them so much! I’ve wanted to start collecting vintage makeup for a while, but don’t know where to start. Any advice?

Those colors look fabulous but please do be careful old make up tends to be Made out of very toxic material.

The makeup is just old, it's not gonna hurt you lol ...if it was dangerous it wouldn't have been sold at all! Just because it's expired doesn't mean it's suddenly lethal and dangerous!!! You guys crack me up. Worried about expired liquid while sucking down chemicals in your red bull and mountain dew.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@eggi4443 I appreciate a minimalist design. What I don't like is the bulky type of oversized packaging that is in thick plastic or acrylic. Fenty, Maybelline and Physicians Formula come to mind. I actually appreciate a sleek design, like the Revlon lipstick cases that are just plain black. I would love it if Revlon would come out with some retro lipstick cases that fit over their black.cases. I would buy them ALL! Revlon, if you're listening, there would be a market for this! We are all craving something a little special now and then!

Many Chinese lipstick brands are actually still doing cases like these, sometimes even more extra than these ones

@@ilkesky27 there's actually a lot of them but they're are very lesser known even in their own country, but so far I've found 2 of the most beautiful makeup brands you could ever find. Florasis, and flower knows. They're a bit pricey, but fr search it up. They're beautiful.

I loved the tiny Avon lipstick samples! They were the BEST! I remember being so excited to get those! I truly miss the days of Avon and wish that there would have been a way to keep.the brand alive because so many of their products were outstanding, including some of their fragrances as well! It would have been great to see how Avon might have done as a boutique in Ulta or as a subscription service! I think the company could have evolved and stayed relevant if they would have brought in people who were more forward thinking. I would like a relaunch and maybe one day, there will be an Avon 2.0.

@@kam0406 i’m almost 30 and i barely remember avon now that i think about it. i remember a friend’s mom sold for them before i started wearing makeup. was that the only way they sold product? i can’t remember ever seeing them in stores, just hearing about them, but i didn’t start shopping for makeup maybe a decade ago. i remember even as a kid i thought of avon as for older ladies or old fashion, so i guess they didn’t have a chance of keeping up with the current makeup trends. it’s always kind of sad to me when treasured brands don’t last, even if i didn’t consume them.

@@dineo8341 Avon was never sold in stores. People has an "Avon lady", who would collect orders and deliver them, along with samples and catalogues of all the latest products. I started wearing makeup in the late 80s, and even though Avon wasn't a huge brand for me, my Mom would get products from there sometimes. The products were actually very good quality and even some of their perfumes were very popular. It was fun looking through the little catalogs that came out, especially the campaigns that came out in the fall. The photos were always great and I remember wanting some of the lipsticks! The sample lipsticks were miniature lipsticks and you could get several uses out of each one. I remember having a favorite red shade in the sample that I carried around in my purse.

@@kam0406 it's still around. Every now and then I find a little sales catalog on my doorstep. Actually, many of their products were cutting edge. They were the first to start using hydrologic acid in their products and one awards. I think the line is called a new? They still make it. They had a lotion that I don't know if it still works but it's got to be the best ever. It will literally erase lines off your skin. I can't remember what was called and I don't know if the formula is the same as it was back then, but it was incredible. In fact, many of their products were superb. Better than you can buy in high in stores. They did a fragrance called sweet honesty that I used for years. It's still up among my favorites. Avon was nothing to sneeze at.

Some brands do. Those brands are usually found in the more expensive section of Sephora and cost $80 each. If you want luxury things, you have to pay the luxury price.

High end brands still have nice packaging, but you would be paying $45-$80 for a tube.

Revlon is having bankruptcy issues 🤯 They are such a classic great brand that it is difficult to fathom the possibility of them no longer being around.

It's all about layers and layers of 10.000 products, cow-like fake eyelashes and a look that could compete with Ru Paul's drag queen show. I pointed out an observation that I personally have made over time. Nothing rude about it tbh. If you tell me, omg I am so tired of seeing people in red pullovers all the time, which makes them look like giant strawberries, it still is a personal perception, but absolutely nothing rude about it. Like "I'm so happy whenever I see natural looking makeup artist because I can't find enough tutorials with this type of style these days!" and you would instead of getting people calling you rude have gotten a lot of recommendations by other people for other youtubers/instagrammers/tiktokers who specialize in this. Hell, you would probably even been told keywords to search for like "minimal makeup" or even "western ulzzang".
