It sets things up perfect for her 7th studio album ‘Lalah Hathaway Live‘, lucky for fans of true R&B we get a firsthand look at the beautiful voice that will spoil us October 30th. Growing up in a music driven household following both of her parents’ lead (mother was a musician as well) may seem like a lot of pressure but you really get the sense that she was really just born to do this. Not only from her naturally calm demeanor but how effortless it looks and sounds as she performs. Hearing stories from legends like Mavis Staples and Stevie Wonder regarding her father’s legacy is probably the most surreal feeling - speaking to living legends about a legend who happens to be your dad. You can definitely feel the energy as she gives us a live rendition of “Angel” for our concert series.

I saw hem at BBKings, I think, at Universal Studios. It was Rahsaan Patterson's show, and I forget who was on the ticket with him. But Lalah, Rachelle and......drum roll.....Stevie Wonder were in the audience. And they all came onstage & improv'd with Rahsaan individually for a few songs!

I remember when Lalah was a student a Berkley school of music in Boston Ma in the late 80s and we did her hair at " Extensions Of You Beauty Salon" on Newbury st. She was a beautiful soul then and still is. Bless up to my girl!

Lalah is an immense talent. There is no one like her and there lies her Greatness. Listening to her is like a being wrapped in the warmest blanket on a cold day. I just can't say enough good things about how awesome she is. I think it's almost instant involuntary reaction that I smile and one hand goes up (church style) when I hear the first note from her mouth. Continued success to her.
