Need a video with pronunciation of U, Y and O shown together. If O is ”fold lips in circle” and Y is ”do the duckface” - for me the difference is little, but the sounds are completely different

Yes. I know they are tricky. We can make a video where we combine those. We will make one about Y soon where we explain it better and I will make sure to include the difference between O. Thanks for the idea!

I really have a problem of the "U" sound "Y"and tju.....😊but I learnt slowly now. I wish I could speak Sweden soon. Tack så mycket ❤🎉

1:52: That's incorrect, single vs double consonant does not signify the length of the vowel before it, it signifies whether or not the consonant is geminated or long. It just so happens that vowels are MOSTLY paired with a consonant of the opposite length (or gemination, or two different consonants). (And even though "pub" may or may not be a long word, it only has one B because the B is short, just like the S in "hus", and unlike the S in "buss".)

Am I wrong thinking or hearing a ü sound in the long version? 🤔 And the short is more an u (oe as in shoe) sound, but a quick one?

Thanks for this video! Utfart maybe has origin in German - it’s “Ausfahrt” and comes from the verb “fahren” which is “drive smth”, also some other meanings

"Att fara" means something like "to travel" in swedish. Yes, it has the same origin long back in the proto germanic language.

The same argument can be made the other way round. For that reason, we call proto Germanic the language where the word originates, and all Germanic words for that matter

When are you coming to Japan? The yen is cheap relative to the dollar, so everything now here in Japan is cheap. The streets of Japan have been filled with foreign tourists. You should come now in the spring or autumn, when the temperature is more pleasant. By all means avoid summer, it is too hot.

"more than two consonants after the vowel, like in 'buss'" - Dubbelfel. 1. /s/ är bara en enda konsonant, även om det uttalas långt, som det råkar göra här. 2. Om du menar bokstäver i stället för konsonanter, så är det ändå inte mer än två här. Trevliga videor i övrigt, tycker jag. (Har dock inte kollat dem alla.)

can you tell when the "g" letter sounds as y or letter j in swedish

We can make a video about it but normally it sounds like an English y-sound when the G is followed by E Y I Ä Ö. So G + E / I / Y / Ä / Ö = Y-sound like in the word Gym. There are some excepetions but this is the general rule.
