Fox on the Run was on Side B of another 45 I bought in 1975. I was blown away!!! I loved the song. I did not know what the group "Sweet" looked like, however, Brian was FOXY AND adorable!!!! They all are actually!!!

Brian Connolly was just a major talent.....He was unique....I would say he is one of the most interesting and intense lead singers in rock history....I would put him up there with Jaggar and even Elvis as far as being a sweet, natural talent....Connolly was a down to earth dude with a sad past, but despite it all, he was just a tower of energy, charisma and power.

I have listened to this song a zillion times over and ...I still never get tired of it! I had a serious crush on these guys in those days. Brian Connolly(lead singer) and Steve Priest(bass)were my faves lol. Mick Tucker was an exceptional drummer. Glamrock kings!😍

Sweet is without question the most underrated band of the 1970’s. They really just had one great album, “Desolation Boulevard” but it’s one of the best albums of that decade. 👍

@@mjh5437 They may have sold 35 million records brother, but compared to there contemporaries (The Who, Queen, Bowie, Led Zeppelin etc) They are considered just a foot note in that era by Rock historians. They are considered one of the great “forgotten” bands of that era. I would say that makes them “underrated”

this was a big hit in 75, we use to hear it at the skate rink when i was a kid, looking back at their music, i think they were ahead of their time, the band was a trend setter for other rock bands, Andy Scott had lots of great guitar riffs, i still hear in other bands songs. i think they were the first glam rock , heavy metal band. and they blazed a trail for hard rock. THANKS.... to THE SWEET !!! you will live for ever,,,

Listening to music all my life here in Canada we never really heard much from Sweet except for the big hits like Ballroom Blitz snd Fox on the run but I’ve been listening to the other songs lately and am realizing that the talent and great songs I never knew existed.... Blockbuster and No you don’t we’re huge hits in Europe along with some of the disco style songs in Oxygen. I’m happy that I had the chance to discover the other side of Sweet and really appreciate the songs that I never knew existed. Thanks for the post and looking forward to digging deeper in the history of the band.👍👌🎸

I grew up in Canada too, and Sweet were really quite big here between 1975-78, but actually I first heard them a bit earlier in 1973 with “Little Willy” and “Wig Wam Bam”. In Europe, they were apparently very popular.

Once again, I love seeing Brian and Steve sing. All 4 of these guys were way ahead of their time. I know a lot of bad things have been said about Brian but he was a big part of this band. All 4 made magic and Brian deserves credit along with the other 3. Everyone has something they have to overcome it doesn't make them a bad person. I applaud Steve for inviting Brian to his daughter's wedding. The looked fantastic and looked like they had so much fun together. Steve Priest you are a sweetheart!!!!

This band, while before my time, was my earliest memory as a 3/4 year old. My cousin who was in middle school at the time loved this band. So underrated.
