I cannot understand people who dislike John Denver. His songs were beautiful. My best friend and I saw John in Memphis , way back in the 70's. It was an experience !!!

John Denver died long before his time; he was truly an AMERICAN TREASURE! His talent and love of our earth flew forth in his crystal clear voice, lyrics and music! Whenever I hear his songs, tears still always come into my eyes because he so loved and so missed.

John Denver was and is one of the world's most beautiful people. He is missed more than he could ever imagine. I know I will miss him always.

I have listened to John's music mostly everyday since 1974. I had the honor of meeting him and he truly was a beautiful down to earth man.

The first time I heard this song on "Back Home Again", I began to suspect that John had heard my story and told it through chords and lyrics and put it on a recording. I always felt like an outsider among my peers in school, even though I'd been in the same schools for years.. I thought I was alone until I heard this song and became a born again believer at the same time. "Sweet Surrender" was MY song, MY theme. It still is to this day. After being let go from a job I'd held for decades, I made a screen saver for my soon-to-be ex-terminal with a photo taken of me walking down a snow trail and part of the verse from Sweet Surrender": "There's a spirit that guides me, a light that shines for me..." As I said, this was MY song. JD just put it together better than I could. God bless you all and peace to your spirits.

John Denver, Mr. Rogers, and Bob Ross are my trinity of wholesomeness.

I still can't believe this awesome man is gone and way too soon, he left behind a wonderful legacy that for me, hasn't been matched by another single. His voice was smooth as silk and I cried when I watched his story last week, please check it out, it's called " Take me Home", I miss this man and his beautiful voice so much and for me, there hasn't been another voice that could ever compare to his !!

This has always been a most WONDERFUL song. I remember hearing it when it first came out, and just loved it. I heard Annie's Song on the radio at about the same time on a music program, and the host described how it came about. Seems like yesterday! Great job with the animation Michelle!! When I first heard John Denver sing Sweet Surrender on a John Denver cassette from his Rhymes & Reason album, I always pictured myself riding on Amtrak’s Westbound California Zephyr heading West for Denver to visit family there and especially arriving in Denver by Amtrak.

Brother Bear is a great movie. My daughter and I love it to this day.

Fantastic song, particularly this live version. I love how it starts fairly slow, but just builds through the entire song to a crescendo at the end. Also, with all due respect to James Burton, Jim Horn, Emory Gordy and others of John’s later band members, I think the incarnation of the band here, with Steve Weisberg, John Sommers, Dick Kniss and Hal Blaine was the best incarnation. I’d also add in Mike Taylor, for many reasons, but chiefly for the immortal riff to the intro of Rocky Mountain High.

I hope he never gets cancelled. Beautiful song and video.

Although this song was really written for a Disney TV show called "Gentle Ben" starring Patrick Wayne (the son of the late John Wayne) it was really about a Bear. This is cute too. I just wish the Production Company Dreamworks had used more of John Denver's musics for "Spirit: The Stallion of The Cimarron" the benefits would have been far greater. I like it, its really cute!!!
