The sweet spot Endbell timing for 1S Lipo , 13.5T Blinky (Locked) Racing.
Setting the timing with a 1S lipo is difficult , but setting with a 2S Lipo gives the same Sweetspot result.
After setting to about 6amps on 2S, the 1S will draw about 4 amps.
This normally corresponds to about 50-54 degree endbell timing.
I show how to use a multimeter and clampmeter to check the amp draw.

Outstanding information as always. I can use my amp clamp for more than automotive diagnostics now! Thanks! After reading through these comments I discovered that you are the DEMON products site owner. You should put a link to that site in all of your videos. You deserve to be rewarded for all of the good you've done for RC.

Hi Thomas it will be a lot better, as long as you gear it correctly for the track.

What should the amp draw be on a 17.5 blinky 1s?

so i would hope to get 4A ish testing through a meter with a 1S battery?? and adjust the endbell to obtain this for optimum motor performance???

Hi Yes, but with a 1S Lipo the amp draw will vary with the Lipo vol;tage Charge the 1S lipo and test. The amp draw should be between 4 and 5 amps. Some set the amps higher, but the motor temperature should be checked after the run.

Hi Thomas After you stop at the end of the race, touch the motor. You should just be able to touch the motor, at the hottest . You should not exceed about 75deg C on the case. If it goes above 80deg C then it may start smelling and may be damaged.

+YOLOEditors Hi The best motors always have the lowest timing as shown on the analyser to get 6 amps. This also shows up on the race track. So the best have below 50 degree, say 48 degree (I have seen even lower) and perform the best. (Also they have good matched sensor boards). Most motors show about 52 degree on the analyser to get the 6 amp reading. The poorer ones go higher to say 54 degree. The actual endbell setting almost always shows it set higher , often above the 60 degree mark. Keep racing. Nick

+Nick Adams Cheers nick. Would any settings on the transmitter affect the setting up the motor timing?

As long as the speed control is on full speed at full transmitter throttle, then it will be ok.

Hi Wiliam You can set up a motor for 1S racing, by tuning it with a 2S lipo to the 6amp off load current. It will then draw about 4.5Amps with a 1S lipo. It is easier and more accurate to do it with a 2S lipo.
