My PB put in sweeps on every turn and 2" pipes. My VSP barely pings my electric bill. Never would have known or cared about any of this if it wasn't for you. Keep up the good work.

Per your advice I used 45's doubled up to make my 90's on the equipment pad and I think it worked very well.

actually so glad you made a video to clear this up. Its a pain in the a$$ to find sweep 90s that are pressure rated and not just DWP locally. I finally bought a few from a link you had sent me. But short radius 90s are readily available so knowing I can use those is a bonus. I did notice less noise from the pump once upgrading to the sweep 90s and having a long strait run directly out of the pump like you suggested. Keep up the good work, love the videos !!!

I love all your videos!!! I have learned so much. I look at a pool pad and think they did that wrong or the did it right. I have been designing my pool and going to see pools that the builders built to see the equipment pad. Out of the three builders only one had the 5x2 =10" or more of straight out of the pump. So Thank you for all the tips. I don't think I saw anybody put a sweep 90 just the short 90 everywhere. A few street elbows. I asked one pool builder to only put sweep long 90 first and 90s if they had to and no street elbow he is said that was an up charge of about 700 dollars more. I noticed on a chart that theT are way worse than the 90 or street elbow can you do anything to make those better so they are not so turbulent. Also every pool I went to see they all put the short 90 after the T some add some pipe first others don't. No one puts the sweep long 90 would it be way better to put those if there was room. So straight pipe then T then on either side they put 90s either with a little run of pipe to reach pipe that goes down to the ground or none. Just curious if I should fight with them to put the long sweep 90s if they can. Will it save that much money in the long run. I will have to pay 700 dollars up front. My pool is 14x27 attached same level as pool 14x6 spa with hopefully 16 jets so I can have a few seats. pool about 25 feet away spa 75-80 feet away. I told them I need a big pip to bring the water to the spa one said 3". I am putting an in floor most likely though might not need it as much since I am putting an auto cover as well. But it very dusty here in Arizona and I will have the pool open for enjoyment. :) Thanks again for all the info. You are a great teacher.

So… how come you didn't use any sweeps on the plumbing behind you? I can't imagine space was an issue.

what about long radius street fittings? the big box near me carries those.

Hey Steve, I've been reading that sweeps are required by code in some places. Do you have any information on where sweeps are required?

Aren’t there much longer sweep 90’s?

Why do you have so many 90s on your pipes?
