First we attempt to visit a viewpoint high up on the mountain however things don't really go to plan.
Next we head over to the Aareschlucht Gorge which instantly becomes a highlight!

Im 74 years of age and first went to Switzerland 60 years ago with my secondary school to Engelberg. We stayed in the local youth hostel which was like a five star hotel. Being a boy from the east end of Glasgow, living in a tenement flat, Switzerland was like being in Heaven. I have been many times since to a hotel on lake Brienz, the Seehotel Terrasse. A stunningly beautiful location a stone's throw from the lake. Unfortunately because of inflation 😕 I cannot quite afford to pay as it is now so expensive just now. God willing I will go back sometime. God bless Switzerland 🇨🇭❤️

Maybe your train failure was meant to happen, at least whoever watches this will know what to expect and not make the same mistake as you, so that's a win for them. Thankyou for taking us on this journey Paddy, I keep crying happy tears because Switzerland truely is stunning. Keep safe and keep taking us with you.

Thanks for taking us up the mountain twice! We had a good laugh. Other KZfaqrs would have covered up their mistake, but you make it part of your journey. I am sure that going all the way up would have been even more expensive. We were there a year ago and it the price was just too expensive for the three of us.

Even with the very sad experience you had at Brienz on the Cog Railway you still love your work and that somes across in bucket loads. Im so used of American Vlogers SCREAMING there message across its nice to hear your calm voice expressing your every experience. As a retired Camera Man I know how much time you spend editing your vids. EDITING....EDITING... !!!. I have never seen anyone else show that beautiful Gorge outside of Brienz and its one place my wife and I will certainly not miss visiting. Gorge-ous!! 😆😁 After a fail of a day (if that is possible in Switzerland), what a beautiful place to 'stumble' upon. I think when we have those days where things just seem to all go wrong that as long as our attitude stays fairly positive, a failure of a day can work itself out. I like to think that those kinds of days gives me a reason to return... next time! 😊

Just came across your channel as I've just got back from interlaken and want to see if there's anything worth going back for. My hotel was 10 mins from the gorge and I never knew about it! The lack of info and how expensive it is in Switzerland it's always best to do your revision beforehand as I've now learnt. FYI for whoever, check out Rabac in Croatia. All day boat hire for €100 amd you can go swimming etc and we even seen dolphins 40 metres from our boat in the adriatic sea!

I've just got back from a motorcycle trip to Switzerland, we stayed at innertkerchen, which is close to Meiringen. We got a tourist card from our hotel which gives many discounts to attractions and free travel on the local tram. It's always good to do a little research. There's a Sherlock Holmes museum also in meiringen.

There is a place in Eternity unimaginably more beautiful than the most beautiful place on Earth. Our Creator Who made us after His own image and our Heavenly Almighty Architect who spoke this Earth into existence sacrificed His begotten son Lord Jesus Christ on the cross to redeem us from Eternal Death (Lake-of-Fire) and our sins is imminently to be the King-of-Kings and Lord-of-Lords. Be ready, Paddy… Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. James 4:14 Philippians 2:10-11 says… 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 Where will you spend Eternity?

You have become our most relevant travel KZfaqr. We found you in researching our Vietnam trip and loop drive, and again researching our Bali trip coming up in Sep. But now I'm watching your Switzerland trip. We spent a week in Lauterbrunnen about 8 years ago and I think it is the most stunningly beautiful place I have EVER been. We hiked the valley that runs south out of Lauterbrunnen out to the Berghaus Obersteinberg. From your previews, it looks like you may be heading down that same valley or perhaps down via Kandersteg. But I do have a question, What do you use as a motorcycle/scooter phone mount on your SE Asia travels? I'm assuming you use Google maps for navigation while driving.

Greetings Paddy, expensv steam engine ride halfway up def. not a fail at all! 👍 (we have similar coal-fired steam engine train on our highest peak in the North East, 6288-feet high, Mt Washington USA Cog Railway, 45-min up, 3-hour RT $18/$21usd) Switzerland def has some stunning scenery to mesmerize all for sure. Very much enjoying this adventure. Love the snow-capped mountain scenes. That gorge was impressive for Switzerland, but I'm a bit spoiled since I'm in New Hampshire, USA. For those in USA, our 2-mile gorge just outside area known as Franconian Notch called "The Flume Gorge" very similar w/ same wooden catwalks with multiple stairs, a loop not quite as long so it's only a 1.5 hr 'walk' (ours is only 800-feet - 243m at base of Mt. Liberty 4459-foot high) and the cliffs rise 70-90 feet up on both sides, most narrow between two mountains - gap is 13-feet (4.2 meters) so it's like a 'mini-alps' gorge discovered in 1800's by an Auntie (yep a 93-year-old adventurer elderly lady out fishing and she just 'happened' upon it) It also has a real pretty 180-foot diameter lake (pond actually) - 40-feet deep between mountains rising up 130-feet around it. The Flume also has a 45-foot waterfall, Avalanche Falls, and NH's oldest 'covered bridge,' from 1886. But, No drones allowed in NH State parks, tho, sorry. Looking forward to more of your great upcoming Swiss adventures. Loving 'em, as always with your professional work/time/efforts, much appreciated too! Stay Healthy, Happy and Safe, my friend.
