My 3 day sardine fast results. I decided to try a 3 say sardine fast... I'd listened with interest as Dr Boz talked about how she recommends a 72 hour sardine fast to her clients and how she does them regularly herself.
I'd never eaten sardines until a few weeks ago, let alone for 3 days! And I still don't like them really. But I was intrigued and I'm always up for a challenge when it comes to food and diet, so I decided to try it for myself. I didn't really know why I was doing it. I didn't have a goal or a plan... But I was intrigued with the results and I still am. Watch the video to find out why.

I created this channel many years ago to share my health journey. Videos have come and gone as I've searched for answers over the years. But after switching to an ancestrally appropriate, meat-based diet, I finally feel like I've found something worth sharing. I'm not a doctor or a nutritionist. I'm not telling you what to do or what to eat. I'm simply sharing what I'm doing and my results for those who might be interested in a carnivore style diet.

I am almost 36 hours into my sardine fast. I have thyroid disease and a bad metabolism. I can't lose weight hardly at all. Been carnivore for 7 months, along with regular intermittent fasing, with nothing but mostly weight gain. Frustrated. However, I weighed myself this morning, 24 hours after I started the fast, and I am down 2 pounds. I am amazed, and I hope this will help my metabolism and that I will be able to lose the 70 pounds I want to be rid of.

That's awesome! I hope it helps you to get started as it has me. I'm doing a second sardine fast right now. It's been about a month since the last one and I've been in ketosis every day since I did it for at least part of the day. My weight is still moving down. So thought I might do them monthly for a while and see how I go. Good luck!

@@annrhodes3544 I'm good. It seems to be under control and I'm not willing to take meds. I'd rather continue to manage it through diet. But thanks for the concern.

You should look into Dry fasting. I recommend a book called " The Phoenix Protocol " by August Dunning I hope this helps 🙏

Finished day 1 of my sardine fast and am feeling fantastic. I am using the sardines in water warming then in a pan with butter and a little truffle salt and some lemon it tastes like fresh trout cooked like that so yummy. I am excited to see how it goes.

Found you while seeing if anyone else feels amazing eating sardines! I eat around 4 tines a week! I make a salad with them, mayo, mustard, lemon, salt, garlic, homemade mayo and pickles!! I also started turning them into a patty with flax and seasoning! I love them!’

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm about to start mine; loaded up on sardines today at the market. Dr. Boz says you can eat whenever you want, no fasting, but I'm going to combine OMAD and sardines so I only eat once a day and it's sardines. I actually _like_ sardines, though, so this is going to be a treat! Who knew?! I've been overdoing on blueberries...we have 50 cultivated bushes and they are producing 3 gallons a day. I freeze most of them, but seriously, I can't keep out of them!

I’d struggle to stay out of the blueberries as well! I still eat them off and on but buy them frozen. I found I really wasn’t hungry when I did the first sardine fast. It was great! Second was a little different though… I didn’t eat enough. You’ll blitz it - especially if you love sardines. That has to help!

I’ve done quite a few sardine fast and I can say my favorite way is to dehydrate them and eat them like chips. They’re really quite good that way add some salt and butter delicious

Thanks for all the advice and telling us about your experience. I struggle to get into Ketosis , even on intermittent fasting . I actually like sardines, so I suppose that helps. I'll give it a go, I've got nothing to lose, apart from some excess weight that is😂

Sardines are such a metabolic boost for most people, it's truly something. My experience has been similar, though I've just eaten them out of the can, for the most part. I would say they are something I plan to keep in rotation, either via a 3 day sardine fast once a month, or even just eating a can or two once a week. I don't love them, wish I did. Glad to here your own results have been positive, & it really does encourage a person to do more doesn't it? Maybe they will grow on me & taste better as I get used to them😁

I prefer the skinless boneless ones. I add melted butter and hotsauce. Can season to your liking

Very interesting and motivating. Ive been keto for 5 years. Ive had hair loss and some people have said their hair grew back. Im hoping. Im on Warfarin blood thinner and hope there are no issues there. Thanks for your video.

You’re welcome. I’m glad you found it helpful. There may still be foods in your diet that are causing problems. Keto is great but still can a lot of plant toxins depending on what you’re eating. You could try moving more towards a ketovore diet perhaps and see what changes?

I drank water and tea. Coffee would be okay I guess without anything added if that's what you normally drink.

Did the 72-hour sardine fast last month and had very good results; after the first 24 hours my ketone count went from the typical 0.5 up to 3.0 and for a week after it fluctuated from 2.5 to 3.0...I lost 6 pounds and my breeches were a bit more lose around my belly. Now my ketone count is back in the 0.5 to 1.0 range so I suspect the effects of the fast have worn off now. This is something I'm going to do once a month now because it supercharges my ketones. And, I find that's it's easy to do because sardines are loaded with fat and I never got hungry, however, it does get boring eating sardines for 3 days but the results are worth it.

I don't trust olive oil in cans, I'm sure they play around with it and it is not pure olive oil. I buy salt water ir springwater.

I’m not sure. It was a while ago but I remained in ketosis for a few days and found it easier to get into ketosis after that for quite a while.

I'm also doing a sardines ONLY fast, but also eat other foods, just like you 😉😉😉. In my sardines ONLY fast, I also eat shepherds pie, chicken, smoothies, bananas, berries, milk, dairy, potato, sharwarma, etc, etc

Nothing puts me in ketosis except water fasting. Then I get cold and feel miserable and hungry, while my blood sugar plummets until I feel dizzy. I am so frustrated by this. 42 hours on nothing but sardines and 0.4 ketones. It works for everyone else, what is wrong with me?

Stick it out. You might find that things change by the time you get to 72 hours. I was the same. Couldn’t get into ketosis. But it changed when I did the 72 hours and the change continued for a while after.

@@SueWoledge My ketones are 0.8 right now, but I’ve been water fasting for 22 hours. I didn’t want to eat sardines after having some at 11am yesterday. So I ate nothing. My blood sugar is still 98, but I know it will drop a bit later in the day. Thanks for sharing your experience and encouragement.

It put my body into ketosis and it was much easier for me to get into ketosis after where it hadn’t been prior

I dropped about 1.5kg over the following two weeks from memory as was losing a steady 100g per day for a couple of weeks. My weightloss is slow. It’s great for kicking you into ketosis and definitely helped my body become more fat adapted.

Started my sardine fast today. After the third can Im just not hungry. That last tim was hard to get through especially because I bought bone in sardines. I prefer the smaller ones for bone in, the sprats. Pilchards can get very gnarly to try and eat those bones 🫠
