My good friend ‪@Thrust83‬ picked up the ‪@SXTHElementEngineering‬ Front Mount Intercooler, for the #GRCorolla.

The verdict is good, with a definite notice of better power at the top of the rev range, temperatures are well under previous thresholds and the car's power remains consistent. I need one too now.

Thanks for the videos! They are keeping me held over until I can get the GR Corrola. My dealers near me are starting to get Cores and Premiums and even Circuits pretty often so I am hoping when September roles around I will get one.

I have the same intercooler from SXTH (did mine a month ago)make sure you check for boost leaks after installing. Pressure test maybe a hour to hour and half install including pressure testing for leaks again with a lift in the shop. Pro TIP if you have boost leaks you will hear them especially over 15lbs of boost roll you windows up if you hear whistling sounds in boost you have leaks (we did after first install). Then pressure test with oil cap off (vent crank case pressure)and pcv capped use soapy water to look for leaks.. otherwise you are good to go. Also don’t over tighten couplers use silicone or hairspray to seal new charge pipes. FYI hairspray works great

Ha! We did each of those suggestions, but ended up changing out the clamps, as we heard the same leak under boost, but inspecting the clamp noticed it was damaged and swapped it. Car is performing great!

How tight did you tighten the hose clamps?

We used smaller electric rachet and tightened them.

ooh they make a gas strut for the GRC hood?

Not a specific GR Corolla version but there are gas struts for the standard Corolla Hatchback and that's what my friend used on his.

You do not. I’m running a full downpipe and intake from MST without any tune, car has been running flawless for thousands of miles. Now I will get a tune, as that will give me all the potential the parts have.

@CarQuicks I'm new to my GR but I had an Sti then went to this I know u can run the mst v1 and v2 with no tune and there's alot of other parts I'm amazed on how this is done are u using an ots map what's the app you run to clear codes for cel because gr does not have an accessport?

You could, but we realized some people wouldn’t want to remove their front bumper, so this method wasn’t the worst.
