You cut out the lateral return spring re-install. When I put a STS on my Mazda, that part was - BY FAR - the hardest part of the whole thing. It probably took me an hour all told to get it installed. At least half an hour of that was getting that fucking spring back on. I wonder if it's any easier here. It LOOKS exactly the same, so IDK how it could be easier. And you cut it out of the video, which makes me think that it ain't all that easy. BUT you didn't bitch about how much of a PITA it was, so...

I have had my GR carolla since December 2023 and I love it. The only problem I’ve come across is with the headlights being too low which limits how far in front of the car the light reaches. It really deters me from driving at night cause it’s just unsafe . I have used the height adjustment switch in the car and they are up as high as they can go. I really need the highest position (1) to be midrange on the switch (3) my question is has anyone else had this problem and if so, have you corrected the problem and how?
@CarQuicks7 күн бұрын
You are actually the first person I've heard, mention this issue for driving at night. I've driven at night a lot with the car, but have never felt the light beam was too low. This could also be my experience with dealing with low sitting cars. For a fix, the only thing I could think of is getting in contact with custom headlight builders (plenty on Instagram) and specifying a unique setup that matches your needs.

Watched your 15000 mile review and you changed my mind about getting an Elantra N. This vid got me to subscribe and start looking at a core GR Corolla with the performance and tech packages. I'm a 72 year old guy who had one of those Evo 8's for five years and still wants the speed and performance and the Elantra's wheel hop and just the lack of rear drive just made me hesitate. Your vids have pushed me over the top and I landed on a Toyota. I'm now looking forward to the day after Thanksgiving. Thanx Dave

Love this video, my man, I watched your 9,000-mile video. I missed the 15,000-mile one, so I'll have to check that out, but I am almost at 4,000 Miles with my 2024 GRC Core. I'm absolutely enamored with it and can't wait to see how my love for it grows when I hit 30,000 miles like you. I appreciate you calling out because people have weird preconceived notions about the car or may even over-hyped it. It's just a very sexy, very sporty daily. It's a Corolla, but it has 300HP and a turbo. The interior must only be insane if you're willing to drop extra cash for the Premium, Circuit, or Morizo edition. I just got it ceramic coated with a 6-year warranty. I was surprised at the tire life you mentioned, and I will have to look into getting some new tires. I'm unsure if you've seen them, but the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 would be an excellent tire for this car with the recommended size.

I drive about 30k miles a year. Do you recommend as a fun commuter car?
@CarQuicks7 күн бұрын
OH absolutely! I was commuting daily in this car and I LOVED it. AS long as you are comfortable driving a manual each day, and if you aren't in crazy gridlock traffic daily. However, I drive manual regardless of any traffic, so for me its never an issue. But overall in my experience its been a great fun car and a commuter.

LOL! No not at all... I wish we were swimming in it, but really we have built a rapport with companies by reaching out and wanting to partner with them on testing and showcasing their products. Not all are free, many times we are fronting some of the cost, like shipping.

It is hard to tell via video, I did a second video of me installing this midpipe on my channel, that better showcases the sound. But to answer you, yes the tone is deeper, cleaner and more robust to the car.

@flatspin216 күн бұрын
Seems like they are targeting the entry level enthusiast with these special editions. True enthusiast and performance drivers/racers want and can truly appreciate the drivetrain of the STI, but theres likely far less of a market for the top tier model when most people are just fine with a car that is $10k cheaper and still has power that’s in the ballpark of the higher end model. Their bread and butter is the wrx, and with so many other factors such as emissions, economy, etc it probably just made the most sense to drop the STI for the time being. I could be way off, but who knows.
@CarQuicks7 күн бұрын
You are probably close to the reality they saw. The cost and overall niche of owners willing to spend the money for an STi I can see being too small for Subaru to develop, but brand recognition is where I'd say they should at least do a small run.

Unfortunately not that I know of, because the system is working off the clutch pedal being depressed and triggering the rev match. With just a brake pedal, I don't see where they could get the ECU to rev match.

I read an article that Subaru may have sold less units with VB WRX in the US, they sold more units in Japan and Asia compared to the previous VA. I think problem with Subaru is facing is the STi's affordability. The WRX GT, TR, and TS already cost $42K. The STi would probably in the $50K range. I am pretty sure there will be an STi, but with current market now, I think Subaru knows its not the right time yet. Subaru will make sure that it will be able to compete and there will be buyers.

Wanting to pick up a Blue Flame 2024 Circuit Edition, I'm terrified of the forged carbon roof though. The owner's manual is incredibly strict with maintenance on it, and not having a garage gives me stress. I'm hoping a full ceramic coating would be enough to protect the roof from sitting outside 24/7.

I know a few CE owners who do not park in the garage. One of the things you can do is PPF the roof to protect it.

If you remember Evo9 started around 32k, and with all options and MR cost 38k ~40k in their last years, which was almost 20 years ago. In comparison E46 330CI cost 35k brand new. GR corolla starting at 38k in my opinion is bargain, especially if you look at how much golf R and Type R cost.

Bro i run a restaurant and deliver 100+ person catering orders with this car regularly. It has good storage you just have to give up the back seats. if you build a custom mount you can move the battery to the right store it there; and drop a piece (2 pieces) of custom cut plywood and a rear seat delete and wind up with storage similar to a pickup. Add some cheap car carpet in black and bam it looks sick and is huge storage

plus when the rear seats are gone you get improved visibility and an excuse to not haul people.
